몇일전 업로드 했던 '크랜베리스'의 'Dreams'에 이어 대표곡중 하나인 'Zombie'를 연주했습니다.
아일랜드를 대표하는 밴드로 강렬한 메탈사운드와 몽환적인 보컬의 음색이 매력적이고 독창적인 팀사운드를 내줍니다.
참고로 이곡의 작사,작곡과 보컬를 맡은 '돌로레스 오리어던'은 불우한 어린시절로 인해 약물과 알콜에 의존하게 되었고 2018년 46세의 일기로 사망하게 되었습니다.
이 곡의 제목을 보고 좀비 영화를 떠올리게 되는데요.
작곡의 배경에는 아일랜드의 슬픈 사건이 담겨져 있습니다.
1993년,아일랜드공화국 독립을 요구하는 테러단체인 'IRA' 가 북아이랜드에 주둔해 있던 영국 군대들을 철수시키려고 위링턴(Warrington)에서 벌어진 폭탄 테러로 인해 12살, 3살의 어린 두아이가 비참하게 삶을 마감하게 된 사건이 있었습니다.그 아이들의 죽음을 추모하고 비인간적인 어른들의 형태에 대해 말하기 위해 이곡을 테러직후 만들게 되었고 노래의 흥행 덕분인지 이후 몇개월 후인 1994년 8월31일 IRA에 테러를 중단하는 정전 선언을 하게 됩니다.
한국과 일본의 역사적 갈등 못지않게 영국과 아일랜드의 관계는 국제적으로도 알아주는 원수지간?! 으로 유명하죠~
이곡의 제목이자 가사에 자주 등장하는 '좀비'는 욕망에 사로잡혀 이성적 사고를 하지 못하는, 마치 좀비와 같이 단편적인 사고와 폭력적으로 행동하는 어른들을 상징합니다.
드럼연주는 곡의 주제와 가사에 걸맞는 아주 적절한 연주가 나옵니다.
그래서 그런지 대중적인 곡에서는 자주 사용되는 패턴보단 단조롭지만 독창적인 드럼 연주들이 많이 나옵니다.
마치 드럼으로 그림을 그리듯한 느낌을 받았습니다.
0:08 기타로 가볍게 시작한 이후 마치 전쟁을 상징하듯 강력한 기타의 디스토션 사운드와 더불어 하이햇심벌을 오픈해서 강하게 리듬을 연주합니다.
변칙적인 박자인 싱코페이션을 많이 사용해서 전쟁의 불안함을 표현하지 않았나 싶습니다.
0:38 하이햇 심벌을 16비트로 연주하면서 탐과 하이햇오픈,스플래쉬심벌을 적절하게 사용해서 긴장감있는 소리를 연출합니다.
01:36 후렴 부분에서도 강한 사운드를 내기 위해 하이햇 오픈을 한 상태에 리듬을 연주합니다.
03:31 간주부분에서는 크래쉬 심벌과 스내어 쉐이크리듬을 추가해서 좀더 강하고 혼란스러운?! 사운드를 내줍니다.킥은 8분음표로 일정하게 연속적으로 연주하면서 곡의 직진성과 긴장감을 계속 유지 시켜줍니다.
04:08 조금씩 고조되면서 강하게 엔딩으로 향해 갑니다.
그 이후에는 1절에서 나왔던 16비트 하이햇 리듬을 연주한 이후에 곡이 끝납니다.

I played 'Zombie', one of the representative songs, following 'Dreams' of 'Cranberries' which I uploaded a few days ago.
Ireland's leading band, intense metal sound and dreamy vocal tone, gives an attractive and original team sound.
For reference, Dolores Oridan, who wrote, composed and vocalized the song, became dependent on drugs and alcohol due to his disadvantaged childhood and died in the diary of 46 years in 2018.
I look at the title of this song and I think of a zombie movie.
The background of the composition contains a sad event in Ireland.
In 1993, a bombing in Warrington caused two children, aged 12 and 3, to end their lives miserablely to withdraw British troops stationed in North Ireland by the terrorist group IRA, which called for the independence of the Republic of Ireland, which was created immediately after the terrorist attacks to commemorate the deaths of those children and to speak about the forms of inhumane adults and, thanks to the song's box office, in 1994, a few months after the song's success On August 31, the IRA will declare a ceasefire to stop terrorism.
As well as the historical conflicts between Korea and Japan, the relationship between England and Ireland is internationally recognized.
The title of this song and the 'zombie' that frequently appears in the lyrics symbolizes adults who are obsessed with desire and can not think rationally, like zombies, who act violently and fragmentary thoughts.
Drum performances are very appropriate for the theme and lyrics of the song.
So, in popular songs, there are a lot of monotonous but original drum performances rather than the frequently used patterns.
I felt like I was drawing a picture with a drum.
0:08 After starting lightly with the guitar, I open the high-hat symbol with the distortion sound of the powerful guitar as if it symbolized the war and play the rhythm strongly.
I would like to use a lot of syncopation, an anomalous beat, to express the anxiety of war.
0:38 Play the Hi-Hat symbol with 16 bits, and use Tom, Hi-Hat Open, and Splash symbols to create a tense sound.
01:36 The chorus also plays rhythm with a high-hat open to give a strong sound.
03:31 In the section of consideration, a more strong and confusing ,It gives you sound.Kicks keep the straightness and tension of the song while playing constantly in 8 beat
