Yeah, and I think that’s why it became so distressed and tried to commit suicide when it heard that the guard’s family knew of his death. Its main goal is not to cause the people around it any distress, so it probably believed that it failed its purpose at that moment.

This is a complex SCP, and what I love about it, On the one hand, it's a wholesome entity with the potential that gives closure to your loved ones and legacy. On the other hand, it's horrific knowing that you surviving a near death experience might not actually be you, but an amorphous imposter, and neither you nor the being would be aware of it.

Mostly cuz of the fact when the instance rapidly decays and remanifests somewhere else. If it was a random thing that affects people, it’s not an individual entity but an anomalous effect that can’t be contained. This seems to suggest it is one entity, giving people a second chance, but is still not the original person

This should be one of the scps that are allowed to carry out their tendencies uninterupted

hmmm, but at the same time it's still not you. It's not like you're reincarnated. It's not your same consciousness. And if souls exist, then it wouldn't be _your_ soul piloting the copy of your body. SCP-069 is just an exact copy. It's like an identical twin that has _your_ memories uploaded into its brain like software. _And_ it's not exactly the same personality. You forget the "strong desire to put your life together" aspect of SCP-069's disposition. That's still a difference.

They are complimentary. Someone To Watch Over Me makes sure people don't die alone. And might be in many places at once. And this one takes one job at a time and makes sure people who died can get things in order and be happy when they die. Their families are taken care of and relationships are good. It also acts like the person. Rather than 4999, who is always himself. Hopefully the person they are dying doesn't hurt it. They're both very kind SCPs. They should never be captured.

You know if i was a high rank in the SCP, i would just let it go but keep watch on him. He's literally helping people.

This is one of the melancholy SCPs I’ve seen. Remind of one episode of “Stargate: SG-1” when O’neill was replaced by a Copy and the Copy visit his ex-wife who he haven’t see for a long time since their son’s death. Though how they manage to prevent SCP-069 from shifting when death occurs on a regular basis in the Foundation?

Its very interesting on Dr. Bob making stories thats not even related to the SCP till the end makes it even more curious

This SCP is honestly really cool to me. It’s like some sort of supernatural do-gooder. It exists simply to make sure people who die are able to have their final wills and wishes lived out and financial stability given to the grieving families. If it was taking money from all these people and pooling it into something, I would be worried about it. But this seems like one of the SCPs they should let just vibe.

i honestly think this scp is a good thing. although for many people the idea of having your life lived by an imposter after you died is uncomfortable or upsetting, it’s for the better because it basically IS you. it has all your memories and even seems to develop your personality. it prevents loved ones from grieving over you and will probably make them feel a newfound respect for you by doing so many good things. if i died i would genuinely want this scp to take over.

I feel like this is a good scp. You tragically die but the anomaly takes it upon itself to get your life in order. Thanks scp 069

Because the idea is to protect and contain these SCPs. The SCP can have effects they do not know about in which they need to research and understand. There's many instances of SCPs being harmless but contained, and it's mostly to either understand them, protect the SCP or protect anyone around the SCP.

@@McBehrer the classification isnt about danger, its about how hard it is to contain; Safe: You can leave it in a box and it'll stay there Keter: containment is impossible or extremely resource intensive

tbh I wouldn't say it's an imposter but rather an anomalous event, since the person is literally unchanged except they now feel motivated to better their life. They ARE the person it's just something anomalous happening to them

(copied from another of my comments) hmmm, but at the same time it's still not you. They never specify that it's an event though. It's not like you're reincarnated. It's not your same consciousness. And if souls exist, then it wouldn't be your soul piloting the copy of your body. SCP-069 is just an exact copy. It's like an identical twin that has your memories uploaded into its brain like software. And it's not exactly the same personality. You forget the "strong desire to put your life together" aspect of SCP-069's disposition. That's still a difference.

@@roserose109 It's your exact same body, DNA and all. It's still your memories and personality. From your pov, you just felt the urge to want to get your life together, and that's it nothing else happened. It says nothing about a soul, and memories + body + personality = person(at least imo). What happens here is just the person dies and then this happens to them, and they're now just memories + body + personality + anomalous desire to get your life together

Because of the way that 4999 works, he effectively can’t be contained, but 069 can. If it can be contained, it will be.

I see this scp as an absolute win

it isn't often I say this. They need to let this one go. there is literally no down side to it being free
