And then they gave him his flowers while he can still smell them with Certified Classics on SABC1. Loved it. You could tell that this man is passionate about not only telling his story and that of many others ekasi but also uplifting them. He said you could be a pupil, looking at yourself through a piece of mirror just know that you are fabulous. Never watched Yizo Yizo. Having listened to umdlwembe I am afraid to watch it.😀😀😀. Some slang words go both ways, praising urself, or disrespecting someone else- eg someone can call himself "inja"(dog) which is pretty much translated to "ruthless", but also you can disrespect someone by calling them inja. $ame thing applies with "umdlwembe". But basically umdlwembe is someone who doesnt give a f** . $omeone who does what they want, when they want to, doesn't abide by nobody's rules. Well here on the song Zola uses "umdlwembe" from a disrespectful point of view. Like, Yo, you "Rat" (snitch) Just know that men's rivary never end( "eyamadoda aypheli"). So someone must have snitched on Zola during his gangsta days back in the day; and its thanks to him we have a timelessm classic😃

Why the 👎 79? This is a South African classic. Zola WAS the zeitgeist at that time. Legend.
But you know, he is a god and we thank him for memorable childhoods. Love from Eswatini🇸🇿
I'm Guineean (Guiné-Bissau), though i love south african musics, and i respect Zola's music and works so much. Peace South-Africa
miss the days where kwaito was great and was the leading music genre
I was so inlove with this song and Zola's raw street lyric...my niggah! always making me feel "bad ass"
I'm here 12 years later ..."yewena Mdlwembe"
I played this song the day I left Zimbabwe to South Africa, it was in the late 90s iam still playing this song even today 25 November 2019, that's how deeply I love Zola #mabhe
