What seems to be a pretty widely missed thing about the "new Luden's" (Caster's Companion) is that the passive is now _WAY_ better for control mages or sources of continuous spell damage. Old Luden's charged all at once, before being able to be used, but Newden's charges the first in only three seconds. And the important bit: The first charge doesn't suffer from the 0.35 multiplier penalty, meaning that landing the first charge multiple times is much more effective than landing the same one multiple times (6x for 6 procs vs 2.75x for one fully stacked proc). The burst effect is still really valuable, though.

TBH this seems to be the only good thing for DPS/"control" mages that's not basically around ten mages that are completely all burst no dps/poor poke.

21:20 The reason Zoe Q scales with level is cuz it's 70% of her power budget and it'd be too vexing to balance it with standard rank point scaling

@@dynhoyw To be fair there's some challenger one tricks that don't know aspects of their champs. Petu had no idea how Shen's Spirit Blade tether looks to an opponent if he's in a bush but the Spirit Blade is in his base because he literally only ever plays Shen and never fights it, he randomly found out in a Shen 1v1 vs another content creator.

anyways, idk if they're gonna nerf this item ... but if they do nerf it? maybe my opinion will change on it; but right now zoe(is)s one of the champions that can easily deal 35% of somebody's max hp very quickly.

I'm pretty sure any instance of non-persistent (non-dot) damage pops the sleep's double damage. Stormsurge should qualify, which means it had its damage doubled, plus the horizon bonus.

Limcube playing league is something that seems like a very enjoyable thing to watch (very sad that I couldn't see you play league a long time ago, heard you had streamed it when you were starting out) and pekin did 937 damage with stormsurge no crit, curious to see if shadowflame would have killed due to the extra little bit of flat pen instead of the added 10% from focus

Good point but shadowflame would imo still not be great on Zoe, as Pekin said, your increments of damage are too high for the bonus effect to be useful. Shadowflame is good on control mages for the most part less good on burst mages imo

There is no way they don't nerf storm surge on release. Its just so much added burst for poke mages who could chunk before and now they can kill. 35% really isn't that much of a threshold

I think its fine in concept they just need to pick. Its either too much damage early or too much damage too easily. Just buying the item has it do minimum 150, that's the same as an ignite (on a 20s CD) and too much for just hitting someone. If they want to keep the damage maybe make it a bit fiddly to apply like Talon's passive or something.

Hsteel Riftmaker Kench could have some promise. Then there's the new(or old) Liandry's for anti-tank AP. Sadly there's no mythic passive for size/q range anymore, though.

PBE servers are in LA, so people specifically in the western US get pretty low ping. My normal sits around 50, and PBE is 20 maximum

Zoe can become an E oneshotter with stormsurge-casters synergy because her E procs off stormsurge. Shadowflame is OP too against semi-tanks and bruisers if you want to finish them off from 70% health (it has especially high synergy as it increases the damage of storm surge and and the true damage proc, but also has anti synergy in that few scenarios have E do 35% health AND the the Shadowflame execute is what finishes them off)

Riot PBE servers used to only bc in Chicago, but now they seem to be split between California (somewhere in cali) and Chicago. Sometimes my ping is around 50's-60's (chic) any other times around 90-110 (cali) I'm located on East Coast. Normally get around 53 for live servers in chicago which is where the NA servers are located currently.

The hydra actives reset AA though, might be a cool combo with your passive

I get that Pekin is insanely good at Zoe but there's no way this isn't mortifyingly broken, no? Like there's no reason a champ should be able to one-shot me from level 2 and and all stages of the game going forward.

I mean until the e oneshot part this looked pretty similar to a normal very fed zoe game on live servers, shes always been one of the best laning and snowballing champions held back by lacking any real escape or disengage tool to save her. I wouldn't be surprised with some small/medium nerfs after her winrate goes up a bit with the preseason stuff but it's nothing insanely different (like people being oneshot from full with karthus ult in preseason, that's a big change from live)

I think the thing that has me most perplexed about this video is just how much extra movespeed there is now. Pekin had 499 at the end there. Do a lot of items just come with it built in now? Are they out of combat passives? I know he has darkseal, but even then, Zoe edging 500 movespeed is like....

I'm sure that the PBE servers are in Cali, since I have 70 ping on live, and 50 on pbe. I'm one of the few that has it lower. I remember that the original live servers for NA were more west coast, probably Cali as well, in like season 4 and prior, then they moved it more in land so East coast players weren't screwed. I think some East coast players had it better on EUW back then.

It’s so weird my normal ping is around 65-78 but my pbe ping is 50 😢

The Q recast indicator doesn't move smoothly with zoe, but the actual range is based on its distance from her.

2:15 could've just flashed to the ignite and kill her too 😢

R.I.P. ILLAOI.............. Illaoi has been murdered by these changes. Even if she gets good items, her tentacle placement will be absolutely destroyed due to the wide lanes. They killed top and mid illaoi in 1 fuckin patch. Items nerfed into oblivion, tower gold nerfed, lanes widened so she cant properly clear waves anymore. Guess even she could out strength Riot's heavy hand of death. I remember when Nagakaboros was the strongest being before being retconned out. I still believe she is the strongest. I will pray to her to have her strength restored.

@@ShadowHunter31 Mid and top are both wider. Some Illaoi's, me included, took her mid. IMO she has better match ups mid. She has decent sustain and great wave clear. The lane had better tentacle placements and the lane being shorter meant you could use your tankiness to woddle back to tower if you really needed to. Now all the lanes are wide. Even the jungle is wide. Its all so wide to the point Illaoi will struggle getting double tentacle hits. Everything is so far apart now.
