I know a guy who has the CC version of that tuba and plays it professionally. He loves it.

Well done, thats a proper test. I think that can be a nice tuba at the living room to show off and play a bit some times. Maybe ill get one since I sold my Conn 54j

Would love to hear what your thoughts are on this instrument as there are very little reviews on this model.

Hi, sorry for such a late reply. Those instruments are something very new in the world of travel tubas, you can easily use those without amplification almost everywhere where you could use the bigger one. The sound is more direct and lacks the usual „sustain“ that you await from a bigger tuba, but as I noted in one of the comments below - it all depends on the room that you are playing in. The build quality of those tubas is fine, as well as the intonation is. It is a great option for all occasions where you do not want to or can not bring your big tuba!

Hi, thanks for your comment, it was recorded in a very small practice cabin. Surely without the usual big tuba bell and body the sound can not be different in that case, but as soon as you use this instrument in a bigger hall it gets way better. I played the F tuba made by the same brand on many occasions within smaller chamber groups, in a symphony orchestra, big band, wind band - it all seems to work very well as soon as the room conditions are fine :)
