After catching my first fish on the zman slim swimz I’m hooked on plastics now, just picked up a bunch of different zman plastics and gonna try out this prawn, love that you guys show how to work all of the zman plastics. Cheers for the knowledge

@nazhfishing thanks for the kind words, it's a good motivator for us to get out filming. We were stoked to hear you scored your first fish and it's great to see you challenging yourself with another different plastic. Just remember to match the hatch, so don't be afraid to fish the PrawnZ a bit slower and focus around structure where prawns live, such as weed edges, mangrove edges, rock and rubble, and so forth. All the best with the fishing. Cheers, Justin

Hey @scpk7366, whiting are a tricky one, but when they are in the mood they will eat plastics. The 2.5" or 2" GrubZ will work, with natural colours like Greasy Prawn or Bloodworm the go. Lubin Pfeiffer has also done well on the ZMan 2.5" TRD CrawZ in Bloodworm, Greasy Prawn or Drew's Craw colours, fished on a TT NedlockZ jighead. You could add a little Pro-Cure Super Gel Scent to fire up the bite. Hope you get stuck into a few soon. Cheers, Justin

Would you agree that when fishing the bottom the jighead weight isnt as crucial as if you we throwing a slim swimz here? Like you could throw a 1/8, 1/6 or 1/5 ned or a 1/4 whereas you might run a 1/8 on a slim swimz?

Hey @yep.ultralight, hope all's well and you're finding a fish. I have a reputation for fishing on the faster and heavier side of things, which works for me when covering water and hunting active fish, however I will lighten the jighead if focussing on key structure. If you are fishing the bottom and it's sand, mud and rubble, a heavier head can stir the bottom up more and attract fish, with the weight being less of a concern. However, if the bottom is heavily weeded a lighter jighead will rest on top of the weed, rather than burying quickly. If you are fishing over the bottom through to mid-water then it's about casting distance, especially in windy conditions, with the ability to regulate running depth by adjusting the rod angle and retrieve speed. The Slim SwimZ is definitely a favourite and that tail responds well to virtually any jighead weight. All the best with the fishing. Cheers, Justin

great advice, also your style is alot more fun and active with covering water which is the beauty of lure fishing over soaking baits. Tight Lines @@tackletacticstv7687

What is the best scent for flathead

  • @tackletacticstv7687

Hey @salty-yx2hi, hope all's well and you're finding a fish. My go-to scent for flathead is Pro-Cure Super Gel Scent in Mullet or Pilchard flavour. tackletactics.com.au/Pro-Cure/Super-Gel-Scents. It is gel based, so it stays on well and it includes both the science (powerful amino acids, bite stimulants and UV enhancements) as well as real ground bait. I add a small amount either side of the head of the lure and smear it all the way down to the tail, every 30 casts or so. Hope this info helps and you get stuck into a few flatties soon. All the best with the fishing. Cheers, Justin
