Zirconia Crown Preparation DEMONSTRATION. (Super Simplified)

A precise crown preparation / tooth preparation is necessary for the success and longevity of a dental crown. This is a short and and to-the-point video demonstrating tooth preparation for a crown.
In this video, I walk you through the technique for a precise tooth preparation / crown preparation. Each step is explained in detail for better understanding.
The steps involved are in the following order : Occlusal reduction, Buccal surface reduction, Proximal surface reduction, Lingual surface reduction, use of end cutting bur to refine the margins and final finishing of the prepared tooth. I have also stressed on how to get well defined finish lines / margins.
Burs Used for tooth preparation in the video
Tapered Round Bur - TR-13 (Mani)
Needle Point Bur - TC-11 (Mani)
End Cutting Bur - EX-18 (Mani)
Yellow Finishing Bur - TR-26EF (Mani)
Although this tutorial is for metal free crowns, the basic technique and steps involved remain the same and can be applied for any other crown type as well. The only difference is the amount of reduction that is done and the margin configuration.
Watch the following 2 videos to know all the tips and tricks involved in a tooth preparation and the burs required for different crowns (These are the 2 videos that I have repeatedly mentioned throughout the video).

Very informative video mam. I want to know HOW TO KEEP MARGINS EQUIGINGIVAL IN A PATIENT. in typhodont your margins are supra gingival. Can you please upload a video on patient,. Operator position, visibility, how to manage tongue and how to counter limited mouth opening. In typho we have too much mouth opening and we can tilt airotor any way we like to any degree. But thats not possible in mouth of patient. Thanks mam

Thankyou, will be uploading a video on operator position soon...so stay tuned! Also, if you have your margins supragingival...you can use an end-cutting bur and take it further down at the level of gingiva for equigingival margins.
