The Sunburst Orchestra Present.... The George Formby Project.
This 2017 recording assembles some of the greatest musicians in the region, all sharing a love of the music of George Formby.
Normally found in the very serious arena of Jazz, we are delighted to present them very much out of their normal habitat, recreating the legendary Harry Bidgood Orchestra, so famous on so many of Formby's recordings.
The master arranger Colin Ball was delighted to get involved. His painstaking transcriptions and masterful conducting made sure the session went without hitch.
With Anthony Mason strumming his ukulele and cheerfully vocalising those jaunty Formby songs, we hope our selection amuses and diverts.
