Zion National Park: The Disneyworld Of National Parks?

Zion National Park is the busiest of Utah's Mighty 5 and often the third-busiest park in the United States. Since 2000, the park has used a shuttle system to ferry visitors to the trailheads and iconic scenic spots. The constant shuttle shuffle and the summertime crowds made us, and several other park visitors we spoke with, think of Zion more as Disneyworld of the national parks.
Still, Zion is iconic and popular for several reasons, and we checked off a couple of bucket-list items while visiting this Utah hotspot.

I bet you both slept like a rock after your time at Zion National Park. The scenery is stunning, but the heat and crowds looked exhausting. Did you have to spend a lot of Disney Dollars during you visit?

The heat really is tiring, which is why we opted to go back to the higher elevation the second night. The cooler evenings really helped us get some needed rest. No Disney Dollars were spent, but with our extra excursions and dinner out, Zion turned into our most expensive free camping experience to date! LOL
