Rajesh Khanna (1942-2012) & Manna Dey (1919-2013). Rest in peace gentlemen!!! A song in which even the instrumental 🎹 by Brian Silas is sweet!!!!

He sang in an unprecedented manner with full of feel and emotion . Salute to the legend. I have never seen him singing before. But the majestic way he sang really compels me to listen this sone more and more.

Great lyrics by Yogesh ji. Great that Manna Da sang the third unreleased stanza also which shows the pain of Anand. To think this song was initially not planned in the movie. It is said that the Lata song situation had been given to Yogesh but Hrishida got Gulzar sahab to write the song as he needed it for shooting. Since, the yogesh song was dropped a situation was given to him for one more song and with it Yogesh sahab gave this amazing gem to us. And his jodi started with Salilda also after that for I think 12 movies.
