    You're not wrong, but cheap clothes are also cheaply made. Make your own or spend a bit more and you'll have stuff that lasts a lot longer.

    Wait for the store sales...that is when the garments become resonable. Yes the dress may be out of season, but then you ware it for the next season. Save money, wait for sales, then enjoy the item more because of a good deal.

    🇿🇦Forever new has beautiful clothing and I agree the sowing is top notch but they use a lot of polyester. If you need an occasional dress, it’s perfect but it’s not a store for everyday pieces. In SA I would say it priced similar to Zara

    Fave dress store. Quality natural fiber dresses, excellent style, not cheap but you’re paying for what you get. Most dresses are designed for tall people so I end up returning stuff. They have petite as well. I’d still go back and shop there

    I LOVE EVER NEW! ll the dresses I gor from them are cotton or linen 😄 the quality is good and I love the patterns as majority of fun dresses i see in stores are all polyester, however ever new has so many cool patterns in natural fibres 😊

    Forever New quality is *Chef’s Kiss”. I get mine usually during sale around $100 or less. In the India and Australia the sales are even crazier. I snagged 2 gown for $60 dollars each.

People don’t realize that if a garment is lasting you 5+ years you can afford to buy a few a year, also, no need to have new clothes every month or for every new occasion and that only became common bc of exaggerated consumerism. You’re supposed to save up and buy what you need and take care of it, not shop once a month for garbage that you’re going to throw in a landfill.     I love forever new and basically my whole wardrobe is from the brand but sometimes they are hit and miss too. Unaligned buttons, threads coming out of stitches and a very obvious looking polyester. It's mostly their most expensive products the ones that are consistently good; averaged priced not so much

    $300 for a dress is extremely reasonable. You need to remember that you are paying for the fabric, the thread, and the labor of the person making it. How long do you think it takes to make a dress? People who buy cheap clothes are either stupid/ignorant or choose to ignore the fact that those companies are using child slavery or cheap labor in other countries.

    People got used to buying shit dresses for 20 dollars at places like shein and Zara. If you want quality dresses that you don't intend to throw out after 2 wears, then yeah expect to spend like 300 dollars. I'd rather buy one quality dress for 300 then 10 shitty trendy dresses for 30 each.

I buy most of my clothes secondhand because I don’t want to pay that much, but I appreciate that someone paid that price for a lovely garment in the first place so that I could enjoy it afterwards 😊.

    I love Ever New too. But I would suggest avoiding any tops/dresses that has elastic straps. The elastic straps are pretty inconsistent in height because of the stretch and the weight of the dress I assume. I found a lot of them like that in store. I was pretty disappointed because the dress I wanted was very pretty with really nice fabric too.

    We don't have Zimmerman in India but Forever New has been here since long time. They are both my favorite brands and I never made the connection that they are similar. I always, always check new collection at Forever New even though they are out of my budget as I am currently SAHM. I have a beautiful impeccably made dress and a top from Forever New which I treasure.

    I used to work there after working at a few designer boutique and the inferior quality was obvious, everything I bought was destroyed after a season of wear (a LOT of pilling, split seams). If do buy from there, buy on sale. It is overpriced for what it is.

    It's really nice quality clothes, poly isn't automatically a negative since esp if the price is like 10% of Zimmerman but the quality still holds up (not thin, no static, not scratchy, doesnt get misshapen easily, etc)

    @@dustmite7558 it’s still not great for the environment regardless of the craftsmanship. It can also still make you sweaty and smelly since even high end poly doesn’t breathe. For these prices I can find a silk, linen or cotton dress.

    I wear both brands but the fitting of Forever New is really bad compared to Zimmermann. Zimmermann dresses last long but of course you’re paying way more.

    Not really reasonable tbh. I am from Australia and only buy FN (curvy) when on sale. Clothes are mostly of good quality but one of the formal dress I purchased recently was a let down. Zimmerman is great as well but definitely expensive.

    Reasonable? In this economy, here I thought a $100 dress was splurging. But in honesty finding good quality clothes with good stitching and fabrics is getting scarce. I’m getting to the stage in life where I’m starting to invest in quality timeless pieces that can last until a grand or great grandaughter one day goes through my “vintage” collection and can still wear them.
