Zimbabwe White Farmers (Pt 1)

Ойын-сауық

I made this 40 minute documentary two years ago in order to create some kind of record of the plight of these people since Mugabe enacted the Land 'reform' program. They continue, along with Millions of Zimbabweans to endure under extreme duress. The main participant Ben and his Mother and Father in law have survived abduction and torture at the hands of Mugabe's thugs.

@@JimmyCrackCorn_ History is not only written by the victor, but dictated by it as well. Before the colonization of Africa, most land was occupied by nomadic tribes, not really owned by anyone. When the Europeans came along and beat the natives and settled, it *was,* for a time, their land. It was my father’s home. Was his entire lineage from there? No, but he was. He grew up there, and spent most of his adult life there. It was just as much his land as it was a Shona or Ndebele’s land. My point being that your argument doesn’t work; here or anywhere else. Wherever you, yourself are living right now was taken in some form of conquest. If you wanna go down the rabbit hole of “it’s not their land,” then maybe you should track down the descendants of the people that were killed to make your home and sign the deed over to them.

Funny the only countries that have any degree of modern life are the ones where whites colonized and remained in power: South Africa, Kenya and Rhodesia. Funny when the blacks took over those countries went to shit. Look at my former home of Rhodesia, now the disgusting shithole known as Zimbabwe, the poorest and most vile country on the planet. It was the richest country in Africa. We lived in Rhodesia (now ZImbabwe) for 23 years and had a large farm that employeed over 175 people and we exported fruits and vegetables to 3 neighboring countries and provided almost 8% of the produce in the country. When Mugabe took over, we were gradually fined, threatened, our home burned, our animals stolen, our dogs slaughtered, and then my uncle was murdered and myself and two brothers attacked with machetes and we were shot. One died later from his injuries and I still have two bullets in my back; I had to fly to South Africa to recover. Our land was divided up and given to 200 poor black families. Our equipment (almost 2 million dollars worth) was confiscated. Within two years, the farms produced not even enough for the local markets. Five years later the land had all been burned the trees used for charcoal and now a slum stands where miles of beautiful productive farmland was. We were targeted because we were white; We contributed to the country and racist communist blacks felt that colonizers were people who exploited. What did we exploit? We developed the land, gave work to the locals and fed the country and brought export money to the government. Zimbabwe is now suffering and I feel no pity or empathy for any of these people

It's misunderstood that Rhodesia is a matter of black and white. It's a matter of liberal and communist. And that misunderstanding is why we have Zimbabwe today. From the beginning Smith promised that eventually, when the Blacks were at the level of whites, there would be a majority Parliament because the Rhodesian system was based on wealth. Not on colour. There was a black party in the Rhodesian parliament.

I understand the African people being angry about the whole thing, colonialism, racism, etc... but having taken control of the country, it was very stupid to run the people that not only had the money, but the know-how. It would have been much better to gradually convert to a mostly black government but take advantage of the people that was willing to stay and work it out, which I would guess were many if not most. That is a good lesson for other countries as demographics change and to be willing to incorporate the new people into a working model.

african nations are notorious for wasting away the vast amounts of foreign aid. the CAR famously spent their entire aid budget on a coronation (whence they became the Central African Empire for a brief spell). Sending aid to democracies is pretty much fine as far as I'm concerned but to old Rhodesia? waste of time for both peoples.

I am saddened by the acrimony that have followed this video. The treatment of any people in the manner Harare has allowed deserves to be condemned. I think that we will all do well to examine all sources of violations of the agreements that led to independence. I spoke to a knowledgeable person who confided in me that London did not stick to the spirit of the accords because it considered Mugabe a communist. It should take some of the blame for what's going on in the country.

They have diamonds, gold, and many rare earth minerals that are used in advanced technology and cell phones etc. Multi-national corporations try to buy up all of the resources at a extremely low price which the "bad" leaders immediately pounce on to enrich their coffers. If a strong leader were to nationalize these resources and refine and sell them as export Africa could be a strong continent. Infighting and bad leadership

Mt cousin went to Africa to learn how to grow a third set of teeth. He bought some land and farmed, this was all late 60's early 70's, and there were two villages on the land already. He made sue they had everything they needed and wanted and shared in on whatever profits there were. All the kids had the chance to get an education. No one went hungry. When anyone was sick or hurt they were taken care of. All the villagers loved him and respected him as he did them. Then one day he vanished, the farm went to ruins and the villagers moved to parts unknown. We found my cousin in Spain four years later and he said the terrorists came in and started killing villagers and threatened him. He was lucky to get out alive.

You can put rims and paint on it, but a stolen car is still a stolen car, even if you give it to your daughter. But the Africans were right...their parents took our lands and oppressed us. We were slaves in our own lands. I feel bad for what has been done to them, but they are a direct consequence of what Colonialism has created in Africa. They enjoyed themselves while we had to speak to them with fear and oppressive reverence and if we did not, we were sometimes humiliated. I understand that this new generation has done nothing wrong and they do not deserve what is coming at them, but they can thank their parents and grandparents for that.

What Africans do amongst Africans is not the affairs of alien whites since Africans don't inject themselves into the conflicts of europe...the constant harping about what Africans do regarding Africans is a common ploy of alien whites that is directly out of their bag of chicanery so as to rationalize their larcenous agenda...further much of the ethnic strife among Africans has been created and antagonized by whites playing Africans against themselves so as to control and dominate...Africans have no need to explain themselves to whites regarding the reacquisition of their land from alien occupiers and are well justified and righteous in employing whatever means they deem necessary to attain that goal...Africans must be unapologetic and unwavering in their campaign to retake what belongs to Africans BTW there is no such thing as white Africans since whites are not indigenous to the continent of Africa and hence cannot be African...the " white" African narrative is but another attempt from the aforementioned bag of deception that whites use in their attempt to create a fraudulent concept that they have the right to loiter ad nauseum in Africa and create havoc

Cinderelle M. No. The whites did not steal land from the blacks. The land was not occupied when the whites settled. The blacks illegally crossed over the border and asked for jobs. Eventually Rhodesia and South Africa became black majority after they flooded across the borders and then demanded that they be given power. Rhodesia and South Africa NEVER belonged to the blacks. The black literally came in and stole the countries.

@laurenjamieson8411 what planet are you living on. Rhodes sneakily obtained the Rudd Concession and then took control of some land with a company. The natives revolted and then eventually the Rhodesians took control of the whole land
