what zidane did at this world cup, was amazing, this world cup in germany was probably one of the best, after that the world cups went downhill, I'm half french but i would love to have seen france win the world cup, but fair play to italy, i men andrea pirlo has done amazing for juventus this year, just like zidane, amazing world cup

I agree with you definitely. That World Cup in 2006 was the greatest in history. It is also the first World Cup I have a good memory of, I was 6 years old at the time. Honestly it feels as if it was yesterday.

I love and respect Zidane. He is my most favourite player. I have seen his "headbutt" on youtube many times. I think, he is a player like Maradona. If Zidane, could have won the World Cup 2006, he would have been definitely ranked with Maradona and Pele, because, we have seen him play valiantly and intelligently in the World Cup 1998 and battled with his team to bag the World Cup of 2006 also, had not the Materazzi incident taken place. I wish, Zidane could be blessed with the post of French National Team's Coach, so that, his and millions of his fans' all over the world, dream of winning the World Cup for France near future could be fulfilled. May God bless Zidane with a prosperous, healthy and wealthy life till the last day of his life. Ameen.

Materazzi will be remembered for getting headbutted by Zidane. Zidane will be remembered as a man who won every trophy out there playing important role in each of those and only player to have best FIFA player and ballon d'ors from different clubs and leagues when football was not just about two but of many contenders, he stood out when ever he was required! 2006 worldcup he schooled every big tam in knock outs at that age coming out of retirement! and now even doing brilliant job as a coach.
