KYK the only one best player in korea. She didnt have better partner to support her in korea. Different with zhu ting, she is best player too. But china team is balance with many good player. I think zhang cn is very impresive too

Both KYK and ZT became the highest paid volleyball player in the world. I think it’s Leon aotm. Both had their best times. It was KYK, it was ZT. They both became the best in the world in their primes.

Kim won MVP in London Olympics with much higher score than Zhu. If Kim was in a stronger national team, then I'm sure she would have won gold in the Olympics way before Zhu did. Anyway, my biggest hope is to see them play together in the same team before Kim retires. Kim's plays are always smart. And that's what Lang Ping praises about her. That Kim has the best techniques, an amazing leadership and is an all-round player. And Zhu has the power and height. With Kim and Zhu in one team, they would be undefeatable.

Zhu has a much higher hitting percentage and ranked higher in pretty much everything in 2016 compared to Kim in 2012, Zhu is way better period.

@@jzvr5842 Zhu is an amazing player and she is definitely one of the best spikers I've ever seen. I especially enjoyed watching her team playing against USA at the World Cup 2019. But for me Kim is equally amazing. I saw Kim playing in the Japanese league and CEV 2012 where she played with volleyball legends like Tom Logan, Sokolov, Gamova and she was incomparable. And especially at the London Olympics. Despite her team being in fourth place she won MVP by scoring 207 points and I think this is quiet an extraordinary record. The point is, even the best players will grow old, retire and younger and stronger players will appear. And eventually the current "best" players won't be "the best" anymore. So for me, there is no point of choosing who is better over another. I personally think both are equally amazing and I prefer appreciating their talents individually.

Both are living legends but Kim is the overall player. She can defend, block and attack well. Also, be reminded that she's in her 30s while Zhu is still young.

I love Kim's smile. Literally, she looks younger than her age! She is not just lovey but powerful in the court! I believe most people who has known her should cherish her!

I love yeon kun, korean eagle eyes with speed & strength of a tiger.he is all rounded, spiker, setter, defense,and also great personality and fun to watch with lots of charisma as a person.

Zhu may have better career but in terms of strategical value of the very players, I would say there hasn't been anyone more overwhelming than prime KIM. She is just too unreal and legendary.

Kim Yeonkoung in this video is 30+ but her talent is still compared to a player that is that much younger, who can do it like her? Can't wait to see Zhu at the same age as Kim in this video.

Kim is the best humble player and beautiful.

Better coaches opinion about Kim: Zoran Terzić (2012): she is one of the best players in the world, no doubts about it. José Roberto Guimaraes (2013): For me, she it's the Best player in the world on this moment, In the position four she it's unstoppable. Giovanni Guidetti (2014): I think Kim Yeon-koung is the best player in the world. I have not seen anyone like her in the last 30 years. (2016): Kim Yeon-koung is something special. I have never seen anything like that. Massimo Barbolini (2017): Kim is one of the best players in the world.

@@fernando9535 Good point. Apart from Terzic, all the other coaches have said better things about Zhu. Also, these comments are made before the emergence of Zhu post Rio. Perhaps you should provide a list of players who think Kim is above Zhu.

Fer Galaviz LOL all of these are before when Zhu became the Olympics MVP. Of course, Kim is older than Zhu, so she was seen first. She's amazing though, not until Zhu came.

To be fair, Coach Lang Ping had high comments for Kim too. She said Kim's spikes are unpredictable and she has no preferred route, which is why she's difficult to defend, and if Kim were in the China team, the team would dominate the World tournaments without a doubt LOL. When Zhu first entered the NT, her idol was Kim so Lang Ping asked Zhu to learn from Kim, watch her videos and imitate her. So yup, there really isn't a need to compare the both of them.

For me, China has a great teamwork and they have Lang Ping compare to Korea who rely to much on Kim. Sometime, I really feel bad for her when seeing how the korean play on the court. China also rely on Zhu but Lang Ping trained the others to rise on the court to support her. . Thats why China able to make it to the podium (World cup, world championship, olympic, world grands champion cup) compare to Korea. . Remember olympic 2012 , bronze medal match with japan. Korea can win that medal but the Japanese focusing on Kim because they know she is the scoring machine

In 2012 London Olympics, Japan could successfully stop Kim to defeat Korea. In 2016 Olympics, Brazil, Netherlands, and Serbia all failed to stop Zhu Ting. Therefore, Zhu Ting was much stronger than Kim.

all of you can show the greatest awards of zhu, but Kim always gonna be better than zhu, because kim doesn´t is only a monster player, kim is an amazing captain, an amazing team mate, and she has a monsters skills that leave to her be in the top of ranking of the best players in the world even when he got 32 years old. Always remember that Zhu doesn´t got the hard work of carry all her team, kim has that work in all her life, kim is the reason of why Korea is now in the top 10 of volleyball teams in the world.

I dont think we should be comparing two different people. Both of them are literally sisters in vb world. Both of them won tons of awards, including mvp in olympic. Heck i would say both of them are from a different era, since im thinking that after olympic 2021, kim might be retiring but not zhuting. She have a long way to go, maybe we would be expecting her to compete in 3 or 4 olympics before she retires. But idk what to expect for the korean team in olympic since they focused too much on kim. During 2012 olympic match with japan, kim herself said that they marked saori kimura but actually the star of the game was saori sakoda (since kimura isnt well at that time). It just shows that there is alot of people in the japan team that can score lots of points, not just saori kimura. And for china, i meam just look at world cup, 11-0?? And china doesnt focus on zhuting alone. All of the players on court were used effectively. Zhang, Gong, Yuan, Yan Li, and heck even Ding Xia is a powerful spiker. Look at argentina vs china in wc19, absolutely amazing. In korean team, im sad because till today, i cant see the one who can live up along side with kim. lee daeyeong, sure she can but against those gigantic teams in the olympic? (which most of the top players were absent in wc19). Kim heejin, she is terrific but from all the korea games ive seen, she is unstable sometimes even tho she got the height. Dont forget that korea relies too much on kim, until her abdomen muscles are torn during the tokyo final qualification. Yes thank god now she is fine in kovo.

As a Chinese person,Zhu ting is our national-wide idol,but I also respect and like Kim.

Better team of the day wins , kim is an one women army . Not sure how you guys measure leadership, it is a subjective metric .

"Zhu is not an all-round player" "Zhu is only good in offense" ME: "That's funny! Tell another one!" Zhu shines without underrating anyone else. Zhu has won individual awards across: world championship/world cup/OLYMPICS/grand champions cup... MORE THAN A ROUND. Speaking of age, no one's older than Jenny Lang Ping.

I think many say that because Zhu really did the offense most of the time. We don't get to see her on defense. She had a great team. As for Kim, she did both and literally covered the whole court in her national team ever since she was young. In her previous club Eczasibasi, many considered her as the second libero and didn't attack much. So, we got to see Kim on defense many times. Just my 2 cents.

@@grad6grade Well, indeed she did but not as much Kim. But if you insist, then I respect your opinion. For someone who has been following Kim since she was young, we do know that she has always been good. She was the libero when she was in 4th grade and a setter in middle school. She practiced receive and dig a lot and built up her defense since young. Back then when Fener won their only CEV Champions League in 2012, Kim ranked first in serve and receive as well but she only received mvp and best scorer award because the rules say a player is only allowed to receive 2 awards. Anyway, that's the reason why we always say Kim is an all around player. Not only us though, coaches like Brazil's Coach Roberto and Vakif's Coach Giovanni Guidetti also said that. Honestly, we don't simply say that just because we are fans of hers.

@Post Up The reality is that Zhu Ting not only is an exceptional individual player, but also a great team player. After London 2012 Olympics, China kept losing all top Asian teams i.e. Korea, Japan and Thailand. Until earlier of 2014, China ranked as number 4 in Asian. After Zhu joined Team China, they improved rapidly. Then China won the silver medal of 2014 World Championship, the gold medal of 2015 World Cup, and the gold medal of 2016 Olympic. Zhu Ting made the whole team China dramatically better and better. Did Kim ever make team Korea improved like that? I don't think so. Zhu Ting is an exceptionally team player, and Kim has not reached that level. Therefore I rank Zhu Ting higher than Kim.

She was best scorer but her spiking percentage was not high. Zhu was best scorer and best in spiking percentage during Rio. She was also at the top 5 blockers and diggers. On top of MVP. KYK was MVP and top scorer

Zhu Ting said Kim was her idol, but an idol may be meant to be surpassed. Talking about the teammates difference, you may compare the team performance when they won the Olympics MVP in 2012 and 2016. You will see how much Zhu carried the team, without a single teammate who could score more than 1/3 of herself, and still taking the most receptions of the team

I think that's the same for Kim as well. Well, at least Zhu still managed to taste victory not only in Olympics but other international tournaments. Kim on the other hand has always been in fateful defeat. For 15 years, Kim has been singlehandedly carrying the team even when she's injured. Nevertheless, we are still grateful for her.

@@emma9777 yes, Kim is really unlucky, the Korean team in 2012 was already at their peak, then their performance started to go down, together with changing coaches etc in recent years. but volleyball fans all recognize her skills and leadership.

@@edwardk8477 Kim has been overworking over the years and it's slowly taking a toll on her. As a fan, I'm concerned as she got injured way easily than before. She's not young anymore 😭 A bitter fact to swallow. Yet I still wish to see an Olympic medal regardless of its colours on her neck 🙏 That's her ultimate goal as well.

@@emma9777 @Nurismah Izzati I believe she would do better too without injury too. Actually, with an already legendary career, Kim doesn't need to prove anything anymore. Team Korea is not in a very good shape now, Kim doesn't need to push her to her limit and end up with more injuries. Btw there's an interesting story between Kim and Zhu. In 2015 volleyball world cup, Zhu was injured in the match against Korea, bursted into tears and limped off the court. Zhu came back with painkiller only 10 minutes later, after seeing team Korea catching up and taking a lead. After China won that set (which also means they won the match), later that night, Kim visited Zhu and shared some equipment to help her recover faster. Zhu mentioned the story and showed her appreciation many times during interviews or on talk shows.

@@edwardk8477 you are wrong. team korea was peak in 1990's. at that time, korea always won over japan and ranked fifth in world rankings continuously. of course we couldn't defeat china because china was another level. but team korea in kim's era always lost to japan, and often lost to even thailand. korea was ranked 10th in world rankings continuously. at the london, we got a bit of luck.

I love both Kim and Zhu as well as team KOR and CHN. Zhu def has the best attack compared to Kim currently, but KYK still maintains her best skills at attack, receive, dig, serve, and block for many years. Zhu is really close to an all round player but she doesn't have that many opportunities to show us. Lang Ping often leaves Zhu out from a receiver line to make her focus on attacking. It's possible because Gong in her team is a great receiver as in an opposite hitter. If KYK was in team CHN, I can't imagine what could happen more in her careers. Zhu has more years to play to go beyond KYK and no one doubts that both are the best outside hitters, but I would go for KYK.

@Ji K Zhu Ting is an all round player. In most high level international tournaments e.g Olympics, World Cup etc, Zhu Ting's statistics were better than Kim's for both offense and defense. I said that Zhu Ting is better than Kim based on the facts supported by statistics. Lot of Kim's fans cannot accept the reality. That's fine, keep Kim as your favorite player and I totally respect your choice.

Kinda funny you're comparing them, when we know Zhu Ting looks up to Kim Yeon Koung. If they are both at their prime, I'd still vote for Kim as she's an all-rounder: serves, digs, sets and blocks excellently. Kim debuted in the early 2000s, while Zhu Ting on early 2010s. That's a huge gap. Both phenomenal players though.

Korean fans always whined that KYK has not been in a better team. Well she could make her team better if she was really as good as Zhu Thing. Before Zhu Ting joined Team China, China kept losing top Asian teams Korea, Thailand, and Japan, and ranked number 4 in Asian. After Zhu's joining, team China become one of the top strong team in the word. KYK is not a top team player as Zhu Ting.

I wonder if there would be any difference should 🇰🇷 qualify for Beijing 2008 🤔 That time, Kim would be 20 yo but she was seriously injured and couldn't even join the team in Olympic qualifier. Everytime the Olympic comes, she won't be in her best form including the one in London. Anyway, Zhu's stats is indeed good in Rio.

@@emma9777 most of kim's fans(including international fans like you) are not pure volleyball fans. they became her fans after watching her on korean variety shows. kim was not that popular when she played in korean league. but since she was appeared in variety show, she became celeb. her popularity is not from volleyball, but from entertainment.

@@user-vb5pe5lu6t that's laughable. how would international fans know if kim was part of any variety show if they didnt discover her first from volleyball? and fyi, kim garnered attention especially from international fans during london olympics 2012 and from there she just continued to shine with her skills. i mean, i do agree that she did some variety shows and somehow, new fans got to know her there but she was already famous. she wouldn't be invited in big variety shows if she wasn't famous, wouldn't she? 🤔😂

In this match obviously Zhu Ting is superior, but during their peak KYK is better, all around but today Zhu Ting takes the crown A Battle of Olympic MVP's Asian Powerhouse. The Successor and The Predecessor

When was Kim's peak? I assume that it was 2012 London Olympics. Zhu Ting's skills and achievement in 2016 Rio Olympics was higher than Kim's in 2012 London Olympic. Peak vs peak, Zhu Ting is better than Kim.

@@grad6grade Kim was injured that time. She had a teared meniscus and serious knee injuries that she got from the previous match against Brazil. She still played as she was the most important player in her team. I'm sure she could perform as good as Zhu did if she was not injured.

@@grad6grade uhm speaking of the Olympics, not only is she the MVP of the 2012 Olympics (even though her team placed 4th), she's also a record holder for the most scores in Olympic History: 207 points for the whole games. Given that Zhu Ting got the MVP in 2016 Olympics yet didn't surpass this score says alot.

@@Jo-cw2kc Kim scored more than Zhu because the Korean team played more sets. You may also compare the scores of Kim's teammates and Zhu's teammates. Han Song-Yi (KOR) scored 102 points, almost half of Kim's. while the second top scorer in Team China scored 59 points, less than 1/3 of Zhu's. Zhu also ranked 1st in hitting efficiency with 42.27%, having a huge margin beyond the 2nd place (Mihajlovic with 31.60%). while Kim ranked 3rd (35.57%) in 2012 Olympics, with Destinee Hooker leading the board at 37.93%. Regarding other stats, Zhu ranked 5th in blocking, 11th in serving, 9th in digging, 4th in reception. In 2012 Olympics, Kim ranked 13th in blocking, 7th in serving, 14th in digging, 9th in reception.

i don't like comparing atheletes, especially ones from completely different generations. however, kim yeon koung is irreplaceable and one in a billion. china was an extremely strong team even before zhu joined, meaning she always had better setters, servers, diggers on her side. however could she take a team as mediocre as korea to the olympic top 4, especially at age 33? i doubt it. kim, even now, also has much better digs and receives, and at zhu's age, her serves were unbelievable. i love both of them as they're both the pride of asia, but if we have to compare, i'd say kim.
