I have to say our company has used DJI for many years, but we switched to the Weebill 2 for many reasons. We now have 6 of these for our media shooters. We do RE, weddings, and other things like music videos, live performances.. We use Sony A73, and Sony A7SIII in full cages. On the RS2 and RSC2 they simply did not compare to the smoothness. I think if the majority used the features of the Weebill 2 as intended, they may find similar. Otoh, we don't ever, or seldom if ever use auto tracking. We are normally hired to do the shoots, and that is on the shooter to do so. One of the biggest issues with all gimbals has been the vertical bouncing when walking. Ninja walk, proper handling, balancing, so many contributors to this... alas, the Weebill 2 has a great feature which makes it worth leaving DJI. That feature is the display which can be used (as is used by our shooters) that show balance related issues, and movement issues caused by the shooter, not the gimbal... The motor display action shows the shooter what axis are being overworked. The idea is to operate so you have minimal deflection on the motor readouts. Many of our shooters with issues (physical handling related) have seriously improved how they use this system. It shows them what they are doing wrong!! Our media guys that have practiced ninja walks, how they move during ascents, descents on an extension, boom etc, all have changed their actual physical methods which has resulted in so many improvements to smoother shots in every way. Too many reviewers overlook this feature which is by far one of the coolest. Some really dislike Weebill 2 from Weebill S due to the QR plate. WE love it in the company since our shooters now depend on getting their balance correct every time. Change lenses, rebalance... what they should have been doing all along, what many people with issues say they do always (and don't really). This also has been a great thing for our company. The editing house we use, and the costs of fixing physical related issues has been greatly reduced, and to the point where the editors we use are asking if we are using AI software to fix those errors before uploading to them for final edits. Nope, it's all related to how the Weebill 2 visual feedback changes the way the shooter is handling the unit. Takes practice as muscle memory will change no doubt, but the improvement in muscle memory is worth it.

All my questions was answered and I learned a few points that I had no clue about. Thank you BTW, I will buy the new Pro Weebill 2 with that external controller as soon as they become available internationally.

Been a Zhiyun user ever since. It was all ok until I decided to invest on the RS2 and honestly, it was worth it. Lots of features that I like on the RS2 but most of all, it's the smooth and easy stabilization.

Have owned the Ronin s and the mavic 2 pro from dji, at this point… and I can undeniably say they are built super well, are workhorses, and we’re worth every single dollar I spent on them.

@@cbrsti Well, our company was with DJI a while, since P3, and Ronin.. In the last year we had to move to Autel E2Pro and Enterprise for drones, and now Weebill 2 for gimbals. DJI is good, but so many issues with their products, things that effect workflow, and for drones especially, the E2Pro kills it performance wise in every way there is.. camera quality, handling, and never a single issue with NFZ crap. All worthy of moving from DJI that has made all our shooters far more productive.

Excellent review, so much information and delivered with confidence and authenticity. You deserve more Subs.

great review, one issue that i have had with all gimbal system is the active track has always been clunky with the app interfaces and phones and transmission systems......i feel that Zhiyun really missed a big opportunity here to break from tradition with the screen being incorporated into the gimble there is no reason to need a transmission device to use the active track.

thats correct quite easy. but also keep in mind, if your camera setup is super heavy, being a single bolt attachment, it might become loose, so make sure you tighten it real good!

that's what our shooters were doing with DJI, and it resulted many times in crappy footage. NEVER take shortcuts on balancing, or rebalancing. Weebill 2 has a display that can show the end result of improperly balanced axis that may seem fine, but under load is not that good. Look into it. Oddly enough very few reviewers have posted much about that simple feature. It will change the way you shoot for sure.

Can you adjust the monitor brightness of the gimbal's display? Is it bright enough to see on a bright sunny day?

I currently own the first version of both and this makes it tough to decide which one to upgrade first 😂

Any gimbals have the ability to have setup a predetermined targets to switch to via a remote or phone app? Meaning, I want to set this up on a tripod and have 3 locked locations I want the gimbal to point. Left soccer goal, middle field and right goal. Be able to by remote choose where it points by remote or app. This or other gimbals have this ability?

Do you know what gimbal I can buy which is Big enough for the canon xa40? (And is not too expensive)

can you use the transmitter to transmit to a phone ??

I started with the weebill S, but soon invested into the RS2 and many more accessories. The RS2 is a fancy looking gimbal with great functionalities and integration. But after using both for a while, I find the footages from weebill S are more stable. I played with many different settings on the RS2 but couldn’t get the same results, especially when I’m doing a boom + pan move. This weebill 2 makes me want to switch back to Zhiyun entirely.

Which will you use primarily now?

Hi zhiyun. Great products. I bought the Webill 2 pro package along with the master eye controller. I even bought an extra transmount transmission AI for my Weebill s. I have 1 software request. Can you update the Zhiyun Play app to allow a clean fullscreen on smarth device so that i can mirror my device and use it as an input in my switcher for live stream. Also on the master eye would be great if you did add a hdmi out port. This would be a killer feature. I see that there is an usb c port. Can u enable video out through this port so i can use an usb c to hdmi cable to go to switcher

Can you compare it to the RSC2?

Can you compare the follow focus and tracking systems?

apologies I didn't get it with the follow focus, decided I don't need, and after 3-4 years using gimbals. I never really used a follow focus more than twice. I feel like filming should be made simple, not more complicated and I rely mostly on cameras touch focus.

Streaming video from camera to this little decomposable screen of Weebill 2 requires a transmitter or just a cable ?

Need transmitter just like rs2. They make you pay to unlock all the features.

zhiyun still has those micro jitters lol had the zhiyun weebil s and noticed the micro jitters in no stabilization. Dji performs really well even if the stabilization is off.

Nice review. Made me sure I don't want one. I like simple devices. This one is too complicated for what it does.

I was soooooo interested in the Weebill 2 but, I saw it's not compatible with my Nikon D810 AND I don't like the fact one can't replace the battery. Rechargeable batteries are not forever. So, not sure what Zhiyun plan is to replace batteries for the consumers. Still, love the features and hate I have to look elsewhere.

I was just starting to get interested but non replaceable batteries is a total deal breaker for me.

Are these both power bank capable? Sometimes I have gigs up to 10 hours. I'd like to be able to use a power bank and power my gimbal for longer periods than these are capable of on a single charge. I used to have a feiyutech G6 plus that I could just switch batteries to operate for longer periods.

you can charge these with power banks yes

In Canada, it's about CA$669 for the gimbal and CA$1099 for Pro Combo. That's way too pricy for this, in my opinion.

I would have thought that comparing the Weebill 2 with the original Weebill S would have been the first option before comparing it with other gimbal makes. I never like equipment where the batteries are integral - so that when the batteries come to the end of their charging life, or develope a fault, the piece of equipment, in this case the Weebill 2 will become useless. I will stay with my Weebill S (I have two), as it does the job that I am used to, and I can replace the batteries.

I agree with you --- people earning a living or doing serious projects don't need the hassle of "built-in" batteries. A battery shouldn't determine the life of your production gear. That's just backward thinking.

I had a very entry level Zhiyun crane m2, the gimbal is fine, but the mobile app is not very good. DJI probably has software advantage for tracking. So Im upgrading to RS2.

Zhiyun is very good at bringing more feature into a product at good price range, but almost never perfect anything.

I don’t feel they did enough on the weebill 2 to make it really competitive. Great review. Is there more clearance for the top of the eye piece with a wireless go

yea its fine both gimbals clear the hotshoe test. good reminder actually next time i should include it in my tests.

yes as its not attached to the gimbal itself but on the handle. hope you have strong arms though

Comparing WEEBILL2 and DJI series, WEEBILL2 still feels camera shake. No matter how hard you try, the strength of the WEEBILL 2 motor will return and it will be a disadvantage. I was at a loss about purchasing WEEBILL 2 and DJI RSC 2, but I appreciate DJI RSC 2. WEEBILL2 is heavy and mechanical and cool, so if you have a gimbal that doesn't feel camera shake, buy WEEBILL2 without hesitation. After this, since it supports a maximum weight of 4 kg, it is necessary to change the camera from a mirrorless camera to a single-lens reflex camera to make it heavier and verify it. Doing this will put a strain on your arm, but xD

Just got mine, brand new, it is glitchy as all get out. Keeps going into sleep mode on it's own.

Not sure why you were testing the running? The gimbal doesn't really have a stabilization for that; rather its about your camera no? (I think you can have that axis utilized if you were shooting vertical on the RSC2.)

@@johndao5870 Sure. But they normally don't use a gimbal for it. I'm not sure if your learned with the way stabilization works, but there are 4 axis stabilization, for the running, which we can pertain to the vertical, is the ONLY axis that these types of gimbals CAN NOT stabilize; hence i felt that the running test was stupid and not very insightful, as it utilizes the camera ibis instead of gimbal performance. Gimbals, have pan, tilt, roll stabilization, none of which is the vertical (to which why there are steadicams/Trinity) to do that job. (its the up and down motion FYI)
