    She did not say "I felt nothing." She stated that she did not feel the threats from the punches (for being put into a position of danger). Big difference!

    Close enough. The word "méishì" was said in a very dismissive manner, as if to say, "i felt like it was nothing". The word "méishì" could also be equated to the english saying: "no big deal"

    @@jasper_of_puppets when i use 没事 it's usually to say something like "it wasn't much", as in it was something, but not enough to really worry about. that's different from saying "it's nothing". i think a more accurate translation in this context is weili meaning it as the equivalent of "no problem" or "no worries" :P

    Very poor choice of words from this "translator." She said she felt fine & there was no threat, she didn't say she felt nothing... Zhang is a very humble warrior and being cocky isn't her style. Not sure why these poor translator always making her sound so cocky. So annoying. It also not helping her to get more fans with these kind of poor translation.

    I kinda like the translator tbh. Unlike asian countries, westerns like hype and translator exactly translate the hype elements into it. She needs this kind of translator if she wants to be even more popular internationally, as long as chinese people understands that she does speak humbly

    I'm a big fan of weili and I am native tongue of Chinese. man, I hate this bloody translator as he always always always said something weili did not say which always make her seem arrogant to me, her nice and humble personality is just twisted by him.this one is an example too, she did not say 'I felt nothing', she just didn't

    I honestly don't blame him. If anything, you should blame the UFC. This man that is translating is one of her coaches, I believe. By the way, the translator they previously hired was terrible as well. So hopefully they will hire someone better this time around. Especially since there are a bunch of Chinese fighters on the roster now.

    @@PyroCham same here, i dont blame this guy in general, i believe he must play some important part in her team. just the translation is ridiculous, and he put words in weili's mouth, that is a disater. UFC should do something about it. Plus i noticed this problem has been there for logn time, translation for leech and other chinese player was horrible too

    Translator should also be more fluent in English imo. There's a lot of nuanced words in English that isnt properly translated as well as nuanced Chinese words that aren't properly translated.

    Zhang switch team is the best thing she did for her career. Previous team did not know what they were doing. She is very talented. Love to see her run it back with Namajunas. The first fight she clearly lost. The second fight she should won but got cheated. I know she will knock Rose out this time around and going forward. Her new team did amazing job with her. Saw major improvement.

    She said “..she did not feel worried (or threatened) after feeling Carla’s punches…” People may take the translation as “cocky/arrogant”. Hopefully the translator was not intending this. It’s tough to translate “on the fly”, especially since Wei Li speaks very well and is very “concise”, not to mention long statements/sentences.

    She was practicing English daily with a professional teacher, but that was prior to the pandemic. The teacher had to return home.

    when you feel nothing its the body saying we worked hard and can confirm confidence we are going to win. i had so much adrenaline confidence that i smoked a few of my mma matches and can say i didnt feel their punches.

    Carla Esparza was the most non-deservant of a Championship Belt. The first she received for being TUF Winner and the second for the worst fight in UFC History.

    You guys in the comments are making too big a deal out of the translation. Yes, the literal translation is that Weili said she felt fine.     @@jordandennis6794 it takes 2 people to fight... if you want to get technical about it. In that fight there were only 65 punches thrown and Esparza threw 35 of them, so in reality esparza did more. if you want to get mad at anyone get mad at rose and pat berry, terrible coaching and Rose was too scared to engage in fear of getting taken down.

    Aggghh....we lost the belt ! Wish it stayed with USA. Well....she did win fair and square, I suppose. And Esparza fought as hard as she could- all these biased fans ranting about how she was going to get " obliterated " ate some humble pie. A victory would've REALLY proved that point, but Esparza lasted past Round 1, and that's more than those fans thought she could do.

    Who is « we »? You do realize the majority of America wanted Carla to lose right? Lmfao. And she did get obliterated what are you talking about, she got pieced up on the feet, the striking difference was night and day, and just like the entire world knew she was gonna try to make it into a wrestling/grappling exchange, which was stupid considering how much physically stronger zhang is compared to her, she literally lost at her own game which everyone thought was her best bet 😂.
