We, the Tausug people of Sulu in the Philippines are very proud of our ancestors ( the Sultan of Sulu) who happened to be buried in mainland china. It shows the co-existence of two great nations and how great the Tausug people and the Chinese people during this ancient time up to now. The Sultan of Sulu ruled the Philippines and the state religion was Islam before Christianity was introduced by Spain. and I am proud to say up to this time that greatness and royalty is still in our blood and will continue to flourish. I am grateful to the Chinese people for celebrating this event despite the fact what is happening now between China and Philippines. Sulu and the Tausug people are now experiencing a lot of challenges and the worst of these challenges is poverty despite of its social and economic contribution to our country.

bec our historians only idolized the Aquinos and centers their write ups on them...and some of them are communist symphatizers so there are so many beautiful part of our history that were buried...the battle of Yultong in South Korea were not even written,...etc

this is all about the deep friendship that bonded between the peoples of ancient Sulu and the dynasty of China. And I am tausog buranun .Only tausog tribes who have the rank level of descendant ..Salip ,buranun ,and datu..This is rank of every personality of tausog..It is not acquire by wealth to gain it's rank..But it is inherit from the father descendant...Wayback the time when sulu still rule by the sultanate and datus .These datu and sultan has a powerfull spell..Thier power is like those fairy..If they say you die ..You will really die..If they ask to rain it will rain ..But today those spell power are now gone..Due to so many temptation in this world today

Way back then Filipinos are not a poor country it’s one of the riches country the land of Gold. And we have many datu and sultans tribe kingdoms. Ancient kingdoms sad to say very less the philippines history subject did not teach us this and I hope the next generation will be more knowledgable and aware of this stories.

In 1417, there was no Sultanate of Sulu yet. Chinese records are very clear. It was a Raja Paduka Pahala a.k.a. Raja Paduka Batara who visited China. The Sultanate of Sulu was only founded in 1450 & Islam was institutionalised as the state religion.

Greetings, possibly more like from Muslim provinces of Xing Giang which is being mistreated badly by CCP thugs because of their religious affiliations. There were many tribal people of China and they were warring with one another that led to building of the Great Wall . Some of them probably settled in our islands and had intermarried with our Negrito natives. Mabuhay and PEACE.

Although, I have so much appreciation for reception and accomodation of chinese emperor he gave the royal sultan of Sulu, I cannot set aside about possible foul play in the death of sultan. But again history has three sides, one for both and finally the truth which will stay forever.. I am doing an independent self study because my grandparents from Leyte passed on some stories through my Uncles about similar stories. It is a puzzle I am trying to piece together but with this information, I am somewhat relieved of some inferiority complex struggle caused by break up in the family for various reason. Thanks for sharing publicly this part of underrated, marginalized history of our that may bring healing to bring hope so we can become a better society and a great nation. Mabuhay and PEACE..

If all the historical financial papers are valid, it maybe possible to finance the development of the Philippines archipelago. The SULU Sultanate was quite wealthy but not sure if the people lived well. At least the Sulu has culture. On short , the SULU were a civilized society.

Ming dynasty emperor respected Muslims a lot because the Hui Hui (Muslims from Central Asia/Persia/Arabia) were responsible for overthrowing the Yuan (Mongols) and bringing in the Ming (Han) dynasty back to power. So I am not surprised he gave Sulu Sultan same respect he accorded the Hui Muslims.

Why are you leaving Brunei out of the equation....Do proper reaserch....Sulu were part of the Brunei empire and the sultan of sulu is a part of the Bruneian royal family.....We in Brunei are fully aware of this part of history.... Theres no such thing as The Phillipines yet...and the only actual/official connection between this the the official relationship between China and Brùnei....which is Officialy recognised by our respective governments till today...

because the Sulu were like pirates who terrorized the area. The english ,you know, always find ways to appease whoever so that they could develop their commerce without harassment. Abdulgazier Yahcob , DEPED should give it a strong consideration that this part of marginalized history be included if we desire to have a sense of strong foundation of identity,self respect, honor and so on and not compromise in half truths by our colonizer. Trade with China or like with any other nationswe sent our workers should always be based on mutual respect and not one sided exploitations as being practiced by nations patronizing our low paid multi disciplined, educated foreign workers. Or else create opportunities for our people of any faith to stay in our beloved land. Hmmm, where did you get that info of yours? Long time ago China and Sulu are friends. Sulu King ruled entire Mindanao Islands.
