"My general,we need to build a scud storm" "no we don't" LOL

I just did a really simple one, flew a helix up north with a worker and some Rebels, then took over the Oil Derricks and built plenty of Black Markets while I held the south, then I scraped up like 20.000 and buiilt four Scud Storms, and eventually two more plus Nukes while I held the south. I also built some quad cannons up in the north for the paratroopers. And Bob's your uncle easy as pie, I nuked and scudded the whole map in record time.

after coming back to my childhood game I got very confident that I can just complete this game on hard mode. Yup, I regretted it

After I failed this mission i search on Google n find out this is tough ever mission

I'm amazed no one has mentioned this yet. If you free the POWs in the southwest US base, but DON'T direct them back to their base, the mission scripting will break. The US will never use their particle cannons and they'll never send waves of units to attack you. You can just waltz in with an army of rocket buggies/inferno cannons and flatten everything. Then, to finish the mission, just transport the POWs back to their base and the mission will end. I did this accidentally on easy difficulty on the brand new Steam release of ZH, so I don't know whether this works on other difficulties or on disc copies.

Well would you look at that? They managed to predict the outcome of the 20 year Afghan War and US's retreat in Afghanistan

@@shido8597 military complex is why. Too many government contracts were tied into the war in Afghanistan. By leaving they can no longer profit from it. So belive me. As greedy as some of these corporations are we will be there or somewhere again soon. Why do you think so many politicians want us to get involved with the Ukraine crisis so badly?

I thought China Mission 3 in Zero Hour is the hardest, until I tried this monstrosity on hard. This mission on hard is (at least for me), by far the hardest and probably most annoying mission in the entire game. Not only you have to be quick, but you have to micromanage a lot of stuff,and if you don't build a SCUD/Nuke or get the Anthrax bomb, you'll have a much harder time dealing with the US base. One notable difference between medium and hard is the usage of Avengers, which is a perfect counter for your Helixes, but at least a huge nuisance to deal with. Personally, I built one SCUD, with which I targeted enemy unit clusters that were particularly difficult to get rid of, or just where the most anti-air units were at the time. I don't ever, EVER want to do this mission again on hard, it gave me a huge headache. And yes, I know if I find this difficult, what would I say to the challenges on hard? Simple, I won't do them on hard :P This is my limit, I feel.

wow this is underrated

Okay i see people saying they built some scud storms. After watching this mission i try to use less scud storms on missions if i don't have to. The only time i actually use a super weapon is to destroy their super weapon. In this one i don't have to use a super weapon cause i destroy the third particle cannon with about 10 helos with rocketeers. And in some challenges when certain generals have like 5 nukes, yes ill build then. But if i don't have to, i don't. And after i blow up their nukes, particle cannons or scuds, i let them blink like they are ready. Watching this dude teaches you how to spam tanks and keep sending troops and building. They key is gathering money and stop enemies from attacking it. Its harder, but its definitely funner. Heck i don't even save anymore if i can't beat it first try then i start over.

I find it way easier to make lots of helix then once he has 3 particle cannons send them west to east and destroy the power plants on the high ground and leave the helix where all the power plants were so he can't rebuild them. After that just make loads more helix then regroup them and send them in focusing on the laser things

The top left corner has a repair bay and 4 oil derricks. No need for black market spam.

i know they are old but I love your videos and have used them to beat the campaigns on hard mode for first time. thanks for your guides! this game will never stop being awesome

Chinese tanks are shit in the game. As hard (light) as the GLA tanks and shoot slow. GLA tanks are better. Just build helixes

Yeah but they got raptors, avengers and paladin tanks not to mention a couple particle cannons.

In this mission i Used the helixes to fly to the island up north and sell my base in the south, that way I only had to deal with air units and particle canons.

Instead "sneak attack" the developpers should have called this mission "invasion" or "insurgency", it would have sound better than the original name

MrRenix1990 i just think that this is pretty much the goal in this game, to invade, so if you want to call a mission "invade" it kinda suits all other missions while "sneak attack" is way better

The bunkers you destroyed at 26:05 if you capture it, does your buildings will get fortified ? It takes 4 scud launchers in this mission to take out a single US command center WTF

Well, the beginning was help enough, I had money problems, but using the helix to capture the american base was a great idea, I did get it down eventuly, but ion cannons got me all the time, because I used time to take out the base with migs 😂

In almost 13 or 15 min us makes particle cannon and also lots of air attacks come too in hard mode it doesn't looks like a hard mode

why do you want to get 2 strategy-Centers? below you said to get mor units. But you would have got the units with just one Strategycenter.

What do you mean with old clips? Do you mean the old clips from the older cnc games?

do you mean setting waypoint so the unit will walk from point to point. because that is done by holding the alt-key and then placing the waypoint whit the mouse just like you would reguallary move your units. O BTW sorry for my bad English.

They don't have airforce,their tanks can salvage parts of destroyed vehicles to become better in combat and they have some op units like angry mob so they are fine

The GLA doesn't really need those, as they are based on the 3rd world paramilitary/ terror cells which lack air and armor. They aren't equiped to fight a conventional war, but that being said, this is how I would balance them out... What the GLA needs is a more efficient way to deploy demo traps without the micromanagement. Rather than having a worker build one a time, having them build multiple ones with the option key. -- Next, they need their own snipers that function similarly to pathfinders, not just Jarmen. -- And lastly, the suicide bomber/terrorists should have the ability to either disguise themselves as enemy infantry, or also be stealthed with the palace upgrade for the rebels. Everything has a counter though, an air force attack can be shredded by avengers, gatlin defenses, and quad cannons. And the classic massive tank rush can be thwarted by a few well placed demo traps, garrisoned RPGs/ battle busses, supported by rocket buggies and scuds. Depending on the strategy, hundreds of units can be destroyed with only a handful of casualties.

You are absolutely unstoppable when you built an economy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this mission was pain in my ass for a while but sneaked some tanks and rebels to infiltrate USA base

You know, this game's plot would have made a LOT more sense if the GLA invaded Africa, not Germany. That would be much more plausible since so many African armies are pretty ineffective and corrupt, and china would have much more reason to intervene if the GLA hit Africa since they have so many economic interests tied up in that continent.

this is not in hard mode.. normally particle canons start just 5 mins later and it goes until 3 particles, if you don't be hurry..
