I got to listen to a ZF4HP and a ZF5HP on the way to and back to school. They sound amazing with Scania DC9's and DSI9's.

it exists, it is special order for a rating between series 50x and series 59x.

I've missed this comment for some reason. The 552 and 554 are Volvo specific ZF orders that are well documented in Volvo Impact service software.

What about ratings and gear ratios? Volvo also had a similar deal with Voith(DIWA 381.4 based on 506 with a different switching pattern).

Nothing beats a Volvo Super Olympian revving up to 1900rpm with an Ecomat and upshifting with kicks, then throttle blips when it downshifts. Eargasms

5HP500 mk2 = Scania L113 CLL and the second 5HP500 mk2 = Volvo B10BLE.

Hey there - the first set of ZF 4HP500's you've got in the video, sure they're not Mk 2 models? The Mk 1 models would have been fitted to older buses like MAN SL200's, Volvo B58's, B59's & B10M Mk 1/2 right? (Or are those not Ecomat models?)

NBS is a function where the gearbox disengages to minimize wear on the drive line when the bus is stopped. Hence the sound.

It's because the gears are straight cut, which makes them whine 4th gear does not make a sound because the gearbox connects the engine directly to the driveshaft (or so I have heard about 4th gear...)

@@mrc14_2 Its 1:1, so 1 rpm for the engine is 1 wheel rpm. so yes that is probably it
