Apparently, the medallions were originally supposed to be used to warp to their respective pedestals... before the warp songs were programmed into the game. That's why some of these screenshots show the forest medallion being used as a C-button item. Also, another fun fact, the Forest Temple was originally supposed to be a Wind Temple (which is why the forest medallion looks like swirls of wind... and is also why the forest barrier in Ganon's tower features those giant fans). In addition, the Water Temple was originally supposed to be an Ice Temple (which explains why the symbol on the medallion represents shards of ice, which is often mistaken for a flower... and is also why the water barrier in Ganon's Tower features an ice theme, instead of water... in fact, it's likely that the Ice Cavern is a small version of what the Ice Temple was supposed to be).

  • @shiftfire4511

Nearly all the zelda games have a wider variety of enemies, but the true issue is the spread of those enemies. In most Zelda games, you won't see a lot of those enemies outside of specific areas or regions. In BOTW, you can see a variation of nearly every enemy in the game in all regions except for The Great Plateau (on normal difficulty). There are no unique monsters that only show up In specific regions.

I'm always saddened by the fact this was never leaked. They sounded really fucking cool for a n64 game, and seeing all the footage and screenshots makes me want them even more. Pokemon fans are recreated the G/S beta, I wonder why other Zelda fans never tried to recreate oot's beta?

it feels like a open world adventure rather than a mix of amusement park/open world like the final one, the final version is the amazing but I hope for a future Zelda they make it, with a heavy open world feel.

I remember falling for that one. Do you remember the “unicorn fountain”? People always thought it was underneath the ice in frozen zora’s domain and the 2 biggest “sub rumors” surrounding it were you could get the triforce after accessing it, or that it was a chunk from the rumored light temple just kind of kept in the game for some reason.

Having seen most of these, I don't think I ever knew about the beta item screens in Majora's Mask. ( 4:15 ) Very curious about that. I'm assuming that this meant the Fierce Deity's sword could be used outside of the mask? Same for the instruments? It's really interesting.

I see many arts were basically like "A link to the past" but in a 3D version, which makes me think they eventually kept taking new improved versions from some artists working on this. Examples of a I mean: 0:38 0:43 0:57 1:01 1:17 Way to simple 3D models, just coping how these characters looked like in the snes. Wouldn't look bad but like more the final version of them for ooT, still one of my favorite Zeldas and game ever. A lot, because to it aesthetic.

Also the first build of the game was not going to be Ocarina of Time at all, it was going to be a 3D remake of the original NES game. That was scrapped around the Fall of 1997 and they managed to rework the game into the finished product in about 12 months.
