Yeah man I try to tell people learning recoil patterns is a waist of time because of aim smoothing. Btw it only negates horizontal recoil. So if you are strafing left you need to pull down and right at various angles depending on the weapons vertical recoil. So past 45° for things like devo. But less than 45° for volt since the vertical recoil is less aggressive. I've also found you will need to pull further down on more zoomed scopes like 3x or 2-4x on 4x setting

Using per scope optic sensitivity is the ideal way to go if u want to fine tune ur aim sensitivity down to the last decimal points even . Ofcourse leaving it on stock u will have pull down more.

@@Jwine95 on console right , aim sensitivity and all matters more for mnk right in range. But most games have this or like valorant i guess u have to move in the opposite direction for sec while strafing to the 100% accuracy non-ads first shot.

Tips for people with recoil smoothing! Learn the recoil pattern: Heavy AR/SMG - lifts diagonally to the left, then to right, then back left (Better to start strafe left like in the video) Light AR/SMG - lifts diagonally to the right, then to left, then back right (better to start strafing right) *special case* Spitfire was a heavy weapon. But its the only Light weapon to have the same ish recoil as Heavy still. Havoc - Same as heavy recoil Volt - Pull straight down and the last 8ish bullets i believe are left then right. But volt is the easiest to control since it just has muzzle rise and nothing to super smooth.

Also LStar recoil is super weird, it does like a right left jitter in the first like 5 bullets but then leans up diagonally left if i remember correctly. Havent practiced with it in a while lol. But Heavy AR and Energy AR/LMG should definitely be the same diagonal left rise.

That’s true. I have been practicing about 10 minutes a day for a good month now and I still don’t do it as consistently as I would like. I catch myself strafing too short sometimes and it’ll throw my aim off like crazy. Old habits do die hard lol

Plus additional advice look control tweaking helps get rid of most vertical recoil

I actually noticed in the mobile version strafing or sliding helps control your aim, it’s nutty but still tricky

Been doing the complete opposite 😭 I just started playing Apex again after a few months and I’ve been trying to figure out why I can’t get my recoil control back to where it was bc my game sense is still decent and I still have all the mechanics but that would explain a lot, thank you!

Really good tip. Should mention every gun has their own unique pattern. Shoot at a wall with no input and then do what he said next to it. You will surprise yourself. You can also quantify the impact of stocks and barrel stabilizers doing this.

This tip alone got me a new pr for wins in a row!

When you move your sight fast enough game thinks you are tracking moving enemy and reduces vertical recoil. So any time when you stay on target while strafing this mechanism turns on but not every player know about that. And one more point is when you shoot from a long distance, you might be thinking that strafing isn't important or can make aiming harder, but it works oppositely

Because jitter aiming only works in apex because there is recoil smoothing AKA it uses the same principle to work

tips on crosshair placement? i feel like my reaction time is (comparison wise) pretty slow but i can only practice that so much,so i was thinking that better placement could help.

I’m so use to pulling down for recoil when I try to go side to side it’s harder for me to aim. Trying to counter aim is just harder idk if it’s my sens or not but I prefer just to pull down. But I know strafing side to side is so much more better bc you aren’t standing still and when you are close range you are moving more

yes but in the first clip ligh ammo guns recoil start on the opposite way you were walking (heavy ammo guns you have to start moving to the left and light ammo guns you have to start moving to the right )

Try going into your sensitivity settings and lower the aiming and shooting respectively I lower mine way more than the default setting say if it was set at 85%, I use it somewhere around 65

And you can also change your vertical or horizontal I recommend not messing with the vertical that much but lowering the horizontal dramatically give it a shot let me know if it works

I always forget this exists so sometimes I absolutely LASER somebody and other times I just have the most awful aim on the planet

move left and right following the recoil pattern, and drag your mouse down slowly. it will be easier than using mouse to following the recoil left and right.

This is the only true way to properly shoot in apex on sticks. I learned this long ago that because I couldn't figure out how to control recoil while I was moving. But once I did I started beaming people. I can't strafe well but I can move quickly out of the way now and still hit my shots thanks to this
