*Thank you for telling it like it is!! Dehydrator and primer have two totally separate functions; both of which are necessary for a proper nail set.* *Dehydrator (nail prep) removes any oils from the nail plate and dries the area to prepare it for product application. Primer works like double sided tape for the acrylic; once in contact with the acrylic and monomer, it ensures the monomer will harden to a perfect seal on the underneath side.* *There's a reason they say "prep & prime" and not "prep or prime". (If it was a step you could skip with no problem, the cheaper nail salons would be skipping it to save $ on the added product usage- believe me.) Lol!* *Love all of your videos! Just did my first Mia Secret nails, love their products.

Oh I love mia secret!! The only time I didn't use it i used a le kit that said it wasn't necessary bit it is I used both dehydrate and primer! Love them both!

Your nails look amazing. Absolutely no lifting. You do a good job.

Thank you I needed to make sure I was using bit right like by putting the dehydrator on and then putting the primer on and then applying the acrylic I wasn't sure if I was doing it right Ive been doing it for a year and about 4 months but I still am learning and need to know little tricks sometimes so thank you!!!

I have heard about the odorless monomer, but I heard that it doesn't set like the "strong" stuff. If you try it let me know how it works! i'm going to look into it. Glad you enjoy the video!

I do my real nails with dip powder and noticed lifting an it really thin out my nails. I am careful with the cuticles an been doing them for about 5 months.-please any idea?thank you sooo much ❤️

Can please give me some feedback. I do my own nails with the same. No lifting. I had a full set for a month. Now I have an overlay and still no issues. I have done two others, but they still lose the entire nail.

Hello I had a question??? If I’m doing acrylicnails and I’m prepping and do I add a bases coat before acrylic application or just skip the base coat? I’ll add dehydrator but would I be able to use base coat anytime during the process or is it only for polish?

Can I just use the primer on my nails. Will that last long without the acrylic. Would thay brake like that.

have you tried using these on full cover gel tips instead of acrylics?

Do you put the hydrator first or the nail tip? I’ll prep my nail putting the dehydrator and then I sand the tip and then I glue it onto my nail and then I put the acid primer after and then the acrylic and my nails keep on lifting so I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong? Ty

Ive been using the ASP products from Sallys beauty supplies and its been going great but i do have some lifting. Im going to try out Mia Secret because this nails look good after so long

hello i have a question im just really a beginner so im really not familiar with gels; umm so does builder gel, sculpting gel and poly gel, acrylic are all the same? and, is this possible to use to stick on fake nails as a glue and cure it? im kinda afraid to sculpt a nails using this gels. I wanna do it step by step. btw video is really informative i was gonna buy this gel hehe

You can use gel base coat to stick full cover nails down if you prefer that, they can last upto 3 weeks, just search for a video on u tube.

@@MUGGLYFE007 that’s cool. I gave up on doing nails myself, I tended to damage my natural nails too much with the electric files. I started designing press ons. And I use adhesive nail tabs now lol. Those primers do work no doubt about it.

I am going to get my nail primer and dehydrator in the mail where in the acrylic nail routine do you put them on? Like do you put the dehydrator after you file your nail? And do you put the primer on before or after you glue you tip on?

Lily Anne Clean your bare nails with alcohol before you do anything so your not pushing natural oils into your nails. If you took off polish and used 100% acetone you don’t need to, because that will also take off any oils. After you file and remove the shine on your nail, you would use the dehydrator, then apply tips, then apply the primer, then apply your acrylic. Please be careful not to get anything on your skin! When you’re removing the shine on your nails, make sure to be very gentle and do not keep going over the same spot because it will make your nails thinner and you really don’t want to use any rougher than a 180 grit.

I thought when you used the dehydrator that replaced having the file the nail.

I’m having some issues, I use the same products and I have crumbling around the sides and then eventually it lifts and I’m really bad at picking them so they last maybe three days. I start with acetone, then I file with a 180, then I go in with a cuticle bit and push back cuticles after before doing two coats of dehydrator and primer. What am I doing wrong ☹️

Ok you have your steps backwards do cuticles first then buff then dust with a nail brush or a kabuki makeup brush. After this step before I dehydrate i clean the nails with 100% acetone. FYI Clip cuticles too acrylic just will not stay on skin and as soon as it comes into contact with it it will lift. Make sure you're clipping hang nails too. also don't flood the area.

@@sherlanaharris5480 No dehydrator on the natural nail then wait as little as 30 seconds to as long as a minute and a half for it to dry, then go in with the primer on the natural nail and let again dry 30 secs to 1 1/2 mins! NOW DO NOT TOUCH YOUR FINGER TIPS TO YOUR NAILS AT ANY POINT! The skin oils will disrupt the prep work you just did. Now you're ready to glue on tips and your acrylic!

K.diamond Please tell me what I may be doing wrong, each time I apply the mia secret acrylic (or any other acrylic) the nails pop off. I clean my cuticles so I’m not sure what could be wrong!!

Is acid free the same as being odorless?

No monomer is the acrylic liquid that goes with the powder,primer is like double sided sticky tape applied before acrylic. Acid primer is stronger than normal primer and puts little holes in the nail for the acrylic to attach to.
