In this week's roughstock report on Zero In, NFR qualifiers Jayco Roper, Brody Cress and R.C. Landingham were in the spotlight for the waves they made over the weekend.
Roper had quite the adventure on his way to the Redding Rodeo in California. After a delayed flight, the bareback rider offered his Uber driver a $200 tip to speed things up. Despite the driver’s modest acceleration, Roper made it just in time, securing almost $6,000 for first place in the rodeo. He didn't stop there, winning the Santa Rosa Roundup (Texas), bringing his total to nearly $8,000 for the weekend.
Meanwhile, saddle bronc rider Brody Cress showcased his consistent excellence by earning nearly $8,000 across multiple rodeos. Known for his reliability, Cress placed fourth in both the Long Round and Finals at the Mill City Bucking Horse Extreme Bronc Riding, propelling him to No. 7 in the World Standings. His steady performance over the past few years has solidified his reputation as a top contender.
Back to another bareback rider, R.C. Landingham is seemingly done being overlooked. The four-time NFR qualifier won the WCRA's Rodeo Corpus Christi and helped the Freeriders take first at Kid Rock's Rock N Rodeo, afterward saying that it was a mistake he was not drafted. As for the PRCA, he has won a check on his five rodeos and won the Wild Rogue Pro Rodeo in Oregon on May 18.
