Zero Dollar Dice Tower - Crafting with Garbage

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

I made another dice tower, and this time I went for the ultimate budget of ZERO DOLLARS!!! Using only garbage (toilet paper rolls, egg cartons, and a cheez-it box) I made this wonderful dice tower. It might even be my new favorite!

    When I made a dice tower out of a pringles can, I used the hot glue to make quick and easy looking cobblestones instead of bricks. _Then I gave it a roof like a wizard's tower. _ I took the top dome and neck of a 32oz Gatorade bottle, structured the "roof" out of it with an old wendy's french fry pouch thing, spent AN UNGODLY AMOUNT OF TIME cutting shingles out of an old tissue box and gluing each of them on in a way where it could look a bit ramshackle. But because I used the neck and cap of the Gatorade bottle, I can just UNSCREW THE TOP HALF of the roof and dump my dice in from there! and screw it back on when I'm done.

    That's brilliant. I know the shingles pain; built a foam core house not too long ago with a roof made of cereal box shingles and it took ages lol. I've actually been thinking about doing a Pringles can build!!

    An alternative to mod podge (that is very on brand with this video) is a mixture of flour and water.

    rather than a watery flour mixture, how about just water and pva glue.

    Any white ‘school glue’ will be better than flour+water. Such white glues are all just diluted versions of PVA glue, which you can buy very cheap from dollar shops and builder’s merchants.

    might'nt an easier option be to insert [and glue intop lace] cocktail sticks? to me it'd seem it'd be alot stronger and less likely to bend orfall apart after multiple dice rolls like the cardboard pieces.

  • @JamesChats

    @JamesChats

    2 жыл бұрын

    The dish soap acts as a flow aid. Instead of globbing up in one spot, the wash flows more freely into all the crevasses. I would've never thought to add it, so thankfully other crafty creators told me to do it lol.

    IT'S NOT ZERO DOLLAR.... you did not find the paint, hot glue gun, wash, and brushes from the trash. The tittle is very misleading. Clickbait. But the video was enjoyable though, just wish craft content creators wouldn't BS the audience, by far the most expensive part of the dice tower IS the PAINT and brushes which you conveniently did not count towards the price because you happen to already own them.

    Dear Lord, chill. I said within the first 30 seconds that it doesn't include the crafting supplies. For remarkably obvious reasons. 1) They can be found readily available in 99.9999999999999% of households. 2) It only consumes a small fraction of the supplies. They are used for many projects. So like, 15 cents worth of supplies? I didn't find them in my trash, but I found them sitting in my drawers for YEARS. Honestly one step above trash.
