    Something you failed to mention, or I failed to pick up, in this and the Zerg Macro guide is that Injects can queue. Very helpful to slow players like myself. I try to do 2 injects most cycles in case I missed one. I often get the "not enough energy" alert, which is annoying, but it's also a "you injected on time" alert, which is nice. This wouldn't work with your preferred hotkeyed queens method, though, as you pointed out.

    Also you can use a camera switch hotkey that move you across every base that you have and spam like two buttons to inject. In hots its was a rapid inject method and works pretty well, but today it's a bit messy.

    Other options to consider: Setting a key to "Base Cycle" macro reduces the need to make camera keybound locations and can be used with just one button, reducing your movement over the keyboard. Secondly, Queen injects stack and queue infinitely. Meaning 2 queens can stack injects from full energy and the injects will pop as they finish one after another.

    @@HuShang I'm curious as to what those reasons are. By my logic, I have one key doing the work of 3. Also to help provide context as to why this works better for me, I use a Razer Tartarus instead of a full keyboard and a Basilisk that gives me access to hypershift. I've got 21 different keybindings. ( more when using hypershift) using this set up I have greater access to the full range of keys needed without hyper extending my fingers or running around searching for command groups and ability keys on the command card. The only benefit I can see is being able to select a particular base to blip to in the event you are being harassed there, but if the goal is more for base management and injecting, there's no real dire need to select a particular base. Even when you account for adapted muscle memory, there is still the fact that this one key, that is accessed by my thumb, is faster at getting through my bases and injecting than having 3 different keys doing that same thing.

    Thanks for this. Some questions from me: 1. How many camera locations do you set up? 4 is not enough, right? That's why I use the base key to go over all my hatcheries (incl. macro hatches in the main). Do you just forgo injecting hatcheries beyond 4th? 2. What's inacurate about base cam (esp. in light of 1.)? 3. I never hotkeyed my inject queens from fear of one of them dying and messing up the cycle (e.g. wandering around), do you not see it as a big problem? Thanks for your content!

  • @HuShang

    @HuShang

    Usually you only inject 4 hatches, but you could use f5 to inject as well if you need. Base cam just isnt very versatile. There are lots of little problems that come using it. F keys let you jump specifically to the bases you want

    The way I've been doing it - have all my queens in a control group. Hit the control group - then HOLD shift+inject keybind, then click, space - click, space - click, space - click until cycled through all the hatcheries. The space goes queen to queen and click obviously injects. Is there a downside to this method?

  • @HuShang

    @HuShang

    2 жыл бұрын

    The downside is its not really that much faster with good practice and the queens tend to run around instead of staying at their hatch. You will need camera keys anyways to defend drops. If you dont hold shift + have camera hotkeys as well its not too bad tbh

    Generally good advice, but if you're going to make a beginner's guide, you shouldn't push players towards methods that require perfect timing and control to work properly. Like your method of control-group control for queens. This used to be my main method, before I understood camera hotkeys, and I was accidently shuffling my queens around all the time and losing track of them. Things like the closest queen not having enough energy, or accidently hitting the ability twice due to rapidkeys. Plus it's super awkward if you want to queue up injects after you've missed a few and have built up energy (something you didn't to cover). Even high-level players like Solar miss their injects sometimes and need to queue. IMO, learning camera hotkeys, using the box/select method and setting up rapidkeys is *THE* way to go for a beginner zerg. And queue up those injects when you inevitably fall behind on your macro cycle.

    hi HuShang, can you help me with my problem? When I create drones, overlords, and sirglins, how can I make them automatically go where I wanted them to go? like when they are born they immediately go where you want them to go, how do you do that? like every time a drone or lords are spawned after birth, they stand right above my hatchery and I'm forced to select them and send them where I want them to go. So, I'll have the same set up as you, the three bases, but the hatcheries in those bases are group 1,2 and 3. So, press 2,2 and camera snaps to Hatchery in base 2, press 1,1, camera goes to base 1. Your method requires twice as many clicks and less control groups. For 5 bases you'll have 5 less groups. Could be problematic. I think some bw pros that switched to sc2 still do it like that for the first while but f keys are def better if you can make the adjustment :)

    Zerg queens are the best wife. It is not that she is obedient, unlike terran or protoss women. It’s that unlike the protoss or terran woman zerg queens are dedicated, she is equal to her partner, she demands respect. She does not strive to be the center of attention, simply desiring that when she speaks, her word are taken with respect. She will not hesitate to argue with her husband should she disagree with him, but through her good graces she will navigate the turbulence of any relationship with her partner and come out, with a stronger relationship than before. Her demeanor shows her pride in her race and individuality, her strong mind and will, her steel resolve, and many other qualities of the mind, and her posture shows her body, perfect in every way no matter what way, for she is zerg, a daughter of the spawning pool. Her presence demands the attention of all those around, terran and protoss, thick skulled as they are, are the only ones daft enough to ignore a zerg queen many traits, finding more beauty in a bearded rock than a true woman. The other races, try as they will, must go to great lengths to achieve the affections of a zerg queen, for a zerg queen understands that only the best may be accepted, and that zerg creates are the greatest majority. Even when married, she’ll draw the eye of bachelors all around without even trying, yet she’ll turn down all suitors, for once bonded, she knows with whom she is to stay, and will gladly die before breaking such bonds. These are all traits of a true zerg queen superior in all ways to a woman of any other stock. To those who disagree? Don’t care, didn’t ask, plus you’re human.

"You spent like 3 minutes just on an overlord going to the opposite base" Did I? I don't see that happening at all in the video. Honestly your comment is pretty confusing to me.
