Buddhist? Buddhism was just an offshoot of the original culture and cosmology of the Aryans, Vedic Brahmanism. Zenki along with Saint Seiya and Gundam Wing were the first anime that I've watch in the late 90s and early 2000s and even to this day(2014) they are still my top 3 favorite anime of all time.

This kind of animé makes my childhood during 90's. Fun and exciting with all those awesome mystical powers and fight scenes of those weird looking monsters. Nostalgic

This song was stuck in my head for 16 years and idk what's the title of the song. All I remembered is that this was my favorite anime when I was 5 years old and years later I keep on singing the "zenki, zenki" part so I searched for it. Man, it brings back a lot of good memories.
