Racing between skyscrapers that seemingly go infinitely into the air, the tops lost in what can only be assumed to be smog.

YOU GOT BOOST POWER!
All three Aeropolis tracks are god-tier. The hair-raising hairpins of Multiplex, the peregrine dives of Dragon Slope, and Screw Drive... simply one of the best intro tracks ever created for a racing game. (It was designed as the first race for AX, so it counts).

sonic oval is the first race in AX, but screw drive is a good course and the first one in the AX cup

Screw Drive is designed masterfully in a sense that it’s on-par with the “Beginner” courses in classic SEGA racing games like Daytona USA or SEGA Rally Championship, and it works really well in the context of F-ZERO. GX/AX was developed by SEGA (more specifically their Amusement Vision team, but still). The course teaches players the fundamentals when it comes to cornering; namely with the final turn being a hairpin that cannot be taken at full throttle without hitting the wall (another nod to Daytona USA). The six laps on offer encourages players to experiment with alternative turning methods, namely the Brake-Drift (an exclusive mechanic in F-ZERO AX performed by tapping the brakes before hitting the gas and turning, as you would in any other SEGA racer).
Aeropolis: Quite an interesting city. Everything is so high up there might as well be no surface, and for all I know there might not even be a surface at all. Falling off the track here would leave you in a pretty long fall where all you can do is wait to crash on anything you could hope to land on. The falls are a pretty big reason F-Zero races are held here. Danger is always thrilling, and a lot of people here don’t seem to care about other’s safety. Especially the people in charge.
Sega always make the best music. So glad Nintendo got them to make this game.

They had no business making music that goes this hard, but God damn. I'm so happy they did, I've had this soundtrack on repeat for about a month now!
this final lap song gives you adrenaline like nothing else in the game. for the final course in the first cup, it's like the music is telling you that it's now or never.
This is awesome. A futuristic city completely generated by a computer. This song perfectly captures that, it's just different from all the rest. The composer of this, Hidenori Shoji, typically uses a guitar as his main "thing" but this track is especially unique in a way that it's just pure electronic and techno. It perfectly matches the theme of this track. This game is genius.
Oh you are a GODSEND It’s so hard to find extended GX songs Thank you from the bottom of my heart

Last race of the Ruby Cup on Master difficulty, and you're locked in a duel with Black Bull, who leads the standings by a single point and seems to be going at twice the speed everyone else is despite being a slow and bulky vehicle for human players.

7:41 Yeah! The Final Lap!
One of the biggest shames with getting good at this game is you only get to hear the first minute of this song before the final lap music starts.
the final lap music at 7:41 really does feel final and it feels like you really did it. It's great.
7:47 I imagine how this is how it feels to travel at the speed of light.
Still waiting for my remake or remaster with online for F-Zero GX
Final lap portion is my comeback music. Same level of hype as Fire Field final lap, gets the adrenaline flow pumping.
Now this was my shit!!!!!!
Dragon Slope, my favorite Aeropolis track :D every time the last lap part kicks in is INTENSE 2200+ kph drops INTENSIFIES :D
Once again I thank you for this. I always listen to these tracks mostly during the summer.

Reminds me a little of Silence from the first F-zero 🤧❤️
Hearing this without seeing the track makes me half wonder if this was originally composed as a White Land track theme. Always thought it was weird we had no White Land stages in GX
This soundtrack really reminds me of Sonic Riders, but then again, i'm already sure that game took TONS of inspiration from many antigravity racers like f-zero so it's no surprise that this and sonic riders sound similar
I got my F Zero GX Nintendo GameCube

Lullaby going berserk with speed and adrenaline
sounds more like a ice city
