=======(The Details)=======
I wanted to do something special for the first video of 2020 with this video. It's the longest/most involved Medley I've done for this channel and took a lot of practice to get ready (over 36 hours of total rendering for this video). I think that practiced paid off as the trickier tunes went well (Fairy Fountain and Gerudo Valley).
The phrasing and dynamics could be better but I was really feeling the pressure on this upload due to the length and difficulty of recording it in one take, all the delays and after not having recorded for a while. There are a few mistakes/heavy-handed playing, especially in the Bolero of Fire and Lon Lon Ranch. I was honestly afraid of losing the take due to some stupid one-off mistake in those tracks and it comes off in the playing imo. Those mistakes will be corrected in the sheet music.
Overall I think it was a great take and I hope newcomers and veterans of the channel can both enjoy this video. Now onto the next video!
Your Pianist,
Erik C.

    My dad wasn’t a gamer but he loved a great story, I was a gamer and I had just gotten OOT, so he sat there with me watching me play and deeply immersed in the adventure. Hours we went laughing, seriousness, even scary moments all with the amazing score of this timeless game but he was there with me through it all to the end. My dad isn’t here with me anymore but his memory will forever be... yes I cried my eyes out but I truly want to thank you. You reminded me of not just those gaming moments with him but of just my dad being my dad. I could not have asked for a better reminder of how awesome he was. Thank you.

    When you play this game as an adult and realize you've lost all the imagination you had as a kid. You feel stuck in the physical bounderies of the game whereas when you were a child there were no bounderies, it just felt limitless. You were so engaged into the story, and immersed by your surroundings that every area you explored had its own smell. I really miss that.

    it's not gone man. or it doesn't have to be. i haven't played a zelda game since oot, but botw was very soothing for me. it definitely was missing the banger OST that other titles had, but it's not gone. nostalgia is great for a bit, but don't get jaded! you got this. even if it's not videogames anymore, there's still things in life to get lost in just as much. just try not to miss the opportunity to enjoy them in the moment.

    One day, a madman, blessed with a powerful magic overheard a sincere wish. He could not fully grant it, but he could not let it be either. So he determined to ask "would you like to re-ignite it?" As for the rest of the story, that is up to you. He hoped they would hear him, but did they ever respond? Only time will tell.

    It shows how emotional Zelda music is, so many of the comments are, ‘I played this game, at this age, with this person, but they’ve passed away now.” It’s lovely to hear of the great times, and the super amounts of nostalgia.. but it’s also super sad reading that those times can’t be shared anymore. Hold onto those happy memories everyone ❤️

I was never any good back then but I could tell even as a child that this game was beautiful and the music would put chills down my spine. To this day I still haven't finished it I think I'm going to go back and finish it sometime soon.

    Takes me back to 2000 I was 4 years old, my uncle who was like my older brother (he passed away last year.. rest in peace) was in high school, and I used to love watching him play One of my proudest moments was one day (he gave me the 64) I found the sinker lure and caught the Hylian Eel first cast. His jaw hit the floor cause he had never seen anybody catch it and here I was 6 or 7 years old smiling ear to ear cause I impressed him This will always make me think of him when I listen now, thank you

    @@TheFiddleFaddle The only reason it was labeled this way is because of the fact that in the N64 version you had to go in and out of the gear menu to switch the iron boots on and off. The boots were needed alot in the temple (obviously) and this was the most tedious thing to deal with. This problem was solved with the 3DS version ofcourse and still the temple received the connotation of being "hard". This even confuses me because the temple in my opinion isnt even hard compared to the other ones in the game and is one of the easier ones.

    @@FigmentHF video games are interactive stories. Just like any good book, they are as real as the audience makes it. My first time playing(I was 8) I felt so bad for saying no to listening to the Deku tree before he died, that I reset my game and played through it again just to say yes. Its okay to have very real feelings, for very fictional characters.

I felt so attached to the world, story and characters as a kid and still do even now. It was a true adventure. I have memories of my family playing it and watching me play it too. How I miss those days... As I'm an adult now, Link's journey through time and into adulthood has really resonated with me. Old times with friends I loved are forever gone, but new adventures and companions are waiting for me just around the corner.

    Do you remember dad, when you worked for dish network and would take me with you to your install locations? I still remember the one kid in the big house who invited me to play with him, he was playing ocarina of time on the Nintendo 64. Of course I had a Nintendo but I had never experienced legend of Zelda let alone an RPG. I’m 30 years old now and that memory sticks out, my biggest influence in gaming was my father. The worst thing this life ever hit me with was your sudden passing at my great uncle funeral. I think about you often, especially when the nostalgia transports my mind to days long since past. Thank you for getting me into horror, and video games and giving me support whenever I needed. In the chaos that was becoming a person you were the only stability I ever had and without you I don’t think I would’ve gotten this far. I miss you man.
