Man, Ocarina of Time speaks to me like nothing else... The nostalgia, the atmosphere - I wish more than anything that I could go back and experience it for the first time again!

Man I remember beating big jaba for the first time, realising I'd stayed up all night an it was daylight, spitting chewed Weetabix into the toilet so I could skive school an getting to that sword man... Dude, be careful playing these games again, don't ruin ya memories of them

Same here my brother. We are united for the same nostalgia. This game was truly revolutionary. A word that has been misused a lot since then but we got to experience a genuine revolution in gaming. For many people that played OoT back then it was their first or second 3D game ever and for most of us it was our first 3D action adventure one. This game was the blueprint for every 3D action adventure onwards and beyond, even til today. Greatness in a few megabytes. Masterfully crafted. That type of development philosophy and cycle has been lost to greed of course, like many things since then... We were verily fortunate to experience a quasi divine inmersive game. So much disrepect have been directed towards Ocarina of Time due to being at the top of the top for so many decades. People lash against it without thinking or knowking. Right now zoomers are using the "MM is better" narrative even though most of them didn't even play either game when they were released (If you know, you know). I love my MM as any Zelda fan. It is my second favorite of the franchise as a matter of fact and it's a darling of many fans because of this uniqueness that only could be achieved by a really deranged development cycle and Aonuma being pressured and probably depressed. But c'mon... Ocarina beats Majora's ass back and forth and again every fucking day of the year and for the centuries to come. No questions. Also the older crowd that adore ALttP and bash at Ocarina: yeah it was the blueprint for many of Ocarina's aspects. It's a masterpiece too of course. But tell me how you don't even know gaming story, and the difficulty of 3D video game design back then without telling me outwardly. Ocarina of Time could be a miracle for that same reason if it wasn't for SM64 released a few years prior. Still, the level design, combat system and puzzle design by itself just kicked every other game asses for years to come. Yeah I needed to vent a little bit. Ocarina is my childhood after all.

Thanks for this playlist! Most Zelda music playlists nowadays usually include BOTW music, but IMO BOTW doesn’t quite compare to the other Zelda’s. Love seeing a compilation that puts the BOTW hype aside.

I find that BOTW music is more calm piano, but the more OG zelda music is usually a synthy flute with harp or guitar (or a weird calm distorted thing like lon lon ranch)

This is a very weak take. BOTW far exceeds with its ambience and its emotional character themes are on par with those from previous games. While I'd agree the OG Zelda music is hard to top, saying BOTW music is weak in comparison is just copium. Sometimes I'll play zelda music on piano for family members. They absolutely love most LoZ music I've played, but when I play music from BOTW they don't even realize it's video game music. It's all on a similar playing field mate.

So many masterpieces composed by the great Koji Kondo. Every theme hits. The title theme, Inside Deku Tree, every Temple's respective track, Ocarina' Melodies, character's themes etc. But goddamn the Temple of Forest track hits me like a train. Transcends this life. Feels like I heard this many centuries ago in a different life. It's haunting, foreboding, creepy, trance-inducing, spiritual, ritualistic, speaks from the inside. Imagine being a 8 year old kid hearing this when you cross the entrance to the Temple... and then navigate the traps and puzzles of the dungeon while this music hits yours senses like a ghost chanting in your ears. Jesus fuck this track is amazing.

0:01 to 1:31:15 Oh wow! All of these songs are truly peaceful and relaxing! I almost fell asleep to some of them! This video is perfe-- 1:31:16 😠😠... Really bruh? Out of all the tracks in MM, I'll never understand why people think that this doomsday, errie, haunting and despair filled track is in any way, shape or form "relaxing, peaceful and/or ambient". And then that had to be the last song in the video too? Bruh... But then again, almost more than half of all the tracks in MM are arguably very unsettling and somewhat disturbing to listen to, especially if you know and understand the context behind the soundtrack... So I dunno, good playlist overall.

I'd call it ambient. Probably not "relaxing" or "peaceful", but it has its own charm. However, every time I get to 10:00, I'm alarmed and on edge.
