Zeene Eatz & Rates French-Style Japanese Curry Filled Buns (Kare-Pan) @ Paris Baguette Bakeries
In this episode of Zeene's Epic Eatz, I visit the Mountain View location of the international Korean chain, Paris Baguette, to share with you one of my most favorite comfort foods; French-style Japanese curry filled buns, also known as kare-pan (for "curry" or "kar-ee" and pan meaning bread). These delectable breads are filled with rich, thick Japanese mild curry studded with bits of diced potatoes, carrots, and corn. We also learn a new word, "kakushiaji" which means "hidden flavor" and aptly describes the hidden sweet component -- usually apple or honey -- to balance out the earthiness of the curry spices.

Great to see you actively vlogging again
My friend who owned Yasukochi's Sweet Stop, famous for their Coffee Crunch Cake in SF passed away from CV-19 last year. R.I.P..

Oh my god! I've had that on my list to do a video this year -- that's so sad. RIP and positive thoughts to their family.

Yes, very sad. I think they are still open. I live in SoCal and would check before you go.

@@dtna Will make it a point to still visit!
Looks like a fun treat! I've seen Paris Baguette stores, but I've never been to one of them. We don't have one in my area, but I have seen them in other parts of the Bay Area. Thanks for the great video, and I hope you have a good week!

Will do! We can go grab one the next time I'm over there during one of the farmer's market days.
