At first, I REALLY WANT TO KNOW why you guys are talking about Ariana Grande here, but as long as yall comparing I also want to know why. Because Ariana is a pop singer and Zedd is an EMD producer. Break free was Ariana's single, so, it's a pop song and it's good (at least I liked and by the way Ariana's vocals are amazing). Ariana asked Zedd to colaborate with her, so you should've expected a pop song song. I want you to know is Zedd's single, obviously it's an edm song. He asked Selena to colaborate with him and she sounds amazing and I'm really in love with this song. You guys don't need to compare both songs because they are distincts song and both songs are completely different from each other, in every way. So, stop the hate because both songs are amazing in their own way.

Actually the story of the becoming of "Break Free" started at some award show when Ariana was performing and Zedd was backstage hearing her voice (at the time her comeup was only starting so he didn't recognize her voice) and thinking "who ever this is, I gotta make a song with her" and Ariana was willing and excited about the offer. Ur welcome

Brings back memories of working out in my basement in 2016, at the age of 14! I’ve been listening to Zedd’s work ever since I was 12 years old! He is a very talented and awesome producer!

This still remains one of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard.

Im an arianator myself, but you have to admit this song is an amazing song..(my opinion) i love both of them and i dont see why people always compare things...like there's no need for the comparing, both are good hits and thats it! Why cant other fandoms just for once not compare with other fandoms...singers release songs for it to be fucking listened to, not to be compared with other songs...also her voice isnt autotuned here, it's pitch correction and EDM filters..even if her voice is autotuned, whats the problem with it? This isn't auto tune, for those of you who have zero idea how production and vocal processing works most vocals (aka all your favorite artists) most often undergo a process called pitch correction. This is where the pitches of notes are manually corrected to account for small errors in singing. This is entirely different to auto tune. Auto tune is tpain and kesha, this is pitch correction which is used on about every major label release. It doesn't mean she's a bad singer, it's simply to make the finished product sound as perfect as it can be. Educate yourselves, damn.

If it's noticeable it's going to be labeled as auto tuned. In general, people see it as a general term for audible vocal manipulation. It's no T Pain, but you can tell she had some trouble singing in pitch.

the song is generic and typical. i mean we really shouldnt be expecting much from selena, but i actually liked stars dance and the heart wants what it wants was filled with so much raw emotion that we couldnt help but have high expectations. this is literally like a step back from stars dance. i knew her working with zedd was going to be a miss rather than a hit, but i had faith because i love selena and am a fan. i hope the rest of her album isnt as generic as this. i am still hoping for greater things from her.

tbh the first time when i listened to it i didn't really like it but i tried listening to it again and i began to like it more and more each time i replayed it and now its stuck in my head and i'm in love with it. people have different tastes in music but most people make an opinion before they even listen to it which makes them automatically hate it i guess.

All the people saying they want old Zedd really don't pay attention. Zedd is using the same synth he used for Shave It, as well as the same song structure as Spectrum, especially with the siren at the beginning of the final verse. Even the cutaways are similar to his remix of Scary Monsters on the off beats. Unlike Break Free, this actually sounds like Zedd, it just has Selena. So many dumb people saying that want the old Zedd back smh, go listen to Slam the Door.

so now occasionally happen with zedd catch is that more and collaborate with renowned artists best known songs are heard thinking that they have less merit and so you give less importance to his work being that remains the same but with the difference Selena 's name or Ariana makes us think that has changed even more commercial style but his lead remains a sound style guidelines complextro and dubstep and has those sample of 4 times that sound very complestep even the beginning with these very typical chords of the simple thing but it sounds really good

I think that the song is great, in my opinion, I think that Selena does great dance music like this. Like her other songs (not even with Zedd but by herself and with The Scene) sound kinda similar, just not exactly because different people made the music and everything... Does anyone else think this or am I the only one?

I think most of you are just used to Foxes or Hayley's voice. I think her voice actually fits it well. It sounds different from his other songs and really cool. I think she did amazing.
