Zeak Winch on the Jeep Wrangler upgrade went sideways.
In an effort to enhance the safety of my Jeep Wrangler, I decided to upgrade the power supply of my Zeak winch and add a safety switch.
Unfortunately, this was the same winch that had caused significant damage to my trailer in the past. As I documented in my KZread video ( • An update on the trail... ), things didn't go as planned, and I faced similar setbacks.

Just installed the same winch on my tacoma. Works great so far. I'm in MA too. What a pain to buy/install something and not have it function as advertised.

Not yet - I wrote Zeak - got ignored so far. No one in the forums can tell me anything either!

@What The Devil [is he up to today]? sorry to hear that. I noticed you said the solenoid box was new. Almost seems like a clutch problem if I had to guess..

@@br6145 In the other video it ran for a bit while I went for a wrench - and another it threw sparks (chicken coop #1) - I was thinking brushes but IDK......
Ive had a Zeak 10k for several years and love it. But for the record the 10k and 12k are the exact same winch. Except for the sticker and price.

I’ve been watching your videos since I saw another Jeep video you posted a while back. Just noticed you’re in MA also! I’m in Chicopee. I was wondering where you got the front hitch? I’m restoring a 1998 TJ so for me I’d like to see more Jeep videos 😊

Amazon, it was a pain to put on - if I were doing it again I would either use nut-certs and bolt in from the outside or tack the bolts in to the frame after fishing them in. If I take this off - clunk goes the hardware into the frame....

Another mass based Jeep KZreadr here just spent the money on a steel three-piece Rubicon bumper for my JLU a buddy of mine has this winch on his TJ and loves it. I have not been able to find that many reviews on it. Did you ever get this problem sorted out and if so, did it turn out to be a good winch or would you advise against it?

Second problem with that winch - 3 if you count the sparks shown in "the chickening"video. Zeak ignored me both times I reached out. I replaced the relay pack after the first (dangerous) faillure. Gave "triangle of death" a new meaning - winch would not stop. I have not dug into this problem yet - filming a headlight upgrade video right now, so I'll get this off and apart soon? maybe... probably. :)
