The waiting is over! Here we finally have [season 10]'s first episode with BEHEMOTH!'s one and only Inferno - Zbigniew Promiński ! ! !
He's a self-taught monster on the kit and was a totally humble character in the nightliner.
So while he was blasting for just one show I had a total blast the whole day!

He's not shy he's Slav. We're cold, we don't smile, we prefer to think in silence than to talk. IF you were Polish and drunk vodka with him he would open up. Other way? - No chance.

I opened for Behemoth at their first south african show. I crapped my pants when I was playing my set and saw Inferno staring at me from backstage. He is a rather large, intimidating man, but after watching this interview, I really wish I had plucked up the courage to go and say Hi to him. He was nodding his head and 'playing along' to our songs and my drumming, which is something I will never forget.

21:05 - 21:22 I almost cried at this part. Those crazy ideas and speed in The Apostasy, Demigod and Zos Kia Cvltvs is what made me fall in love with Behemoth. These albums were the albums that made me fall in love with death and black metal. Inferno is one of these extreme drummers that made me crazy about all that speed and creativity. It's sad to hear what Inferno says, but people change and do progress. This is what progress is for him and for the band, so I have to accept it. Another amaazing drummer that I've been into since 2002! I first heard "As Above, So Below" on some cable tv radio channel way back then, and the drum line immediately sold me. I was on board 100% with the music of Behemoth. I have bought every record since, and my love for Inferno's power and style has only grown! To hear him say that he is self taught absolutely blows me away! That's amazing! My absolute favorite Behemoth memory is seeing them in Detroit in 2018 headlining in support of "I Loved You At Your Darkest." I hadn't picked up the album yet and only heard two songs so far. When the band started "Bartzabel," it jumped straight to the top of my favorite Behemoth songs. Number one, based solely on that drumming. Absolutely incredible! Thanks so much for this great interview!

He seem's to be a very humble and down to earth guy as well, and i hope he knows how much of an inspiration he is to many of us drummers. I found it hilarious how he taught himself his own technique through just listening to other metal records, as i myself use to take lessons but in turn just preferred as he said 'barbarian drumming' and just playing along to songs. Inferno is definitely a super chill, humble guy but make no mistake this man is a world class musician. He is extremely innovative and creative, in a genre that is so technically and physically challenging. I'm not surprised by his success, but I am so happy to see it because he has clearly worked incredibly hard for a very long time. Well deserved! 🤘🤘

Zbiggy!!! My concert going friends when I was living in Houston often ended up hanging out with him, Seth, and Orion afterward since Nergal was usually off doing whatever, and he is one of the friendliest fellows you'd ever want to meet. Big and scary looking, certainly, but once you get him talking he's super nice. Got to see him talking shop (about trigger modules) with George Kollias backstage at Ozzfest in Selma, TX, 13 years ago and that was really something!

Wow, Inferno very much strikes me as an "Old Soul". Very calm, collected & gathered in his thoughts before he talks. I'm jealous because I'm the polar opposite & speak everything on my mind and hope my friends have the patience to pick out the important parts. Anyway, I can hear the wisdom in his speech & it sounds like they've been through a lot together as a band. Definitely a lot of personal growth over time. And you can hear it in "I loved you at your Darkest". I little slower, even more cerebral & introspective, and downright tasty. We're going to see great things from them for a long time to come, fate willing. Inferno's quiet, collected & almost shy disposition gives balance to the band. So glad you shared this interview. Mad respect for him.

I met Behemoth at an Ozzfest in Phoenix maybe 10 or 12 years ago...Nergal and Inferno are super fucking awesome, albeit a little reserved at the time, but after seeing this it makes sense. Crushing it on stage when its 115 outside, then coming down onto the blacktop and signing autographs and talking to people. Definitely awesome to hear the big man talk about his methods! Great interview!

Happy to hear him mentioning Morbid Angel. Pete Sandoval is one of my favorites, and a legend. I can hear the influence in Inferno's playing from Morbid Angel. I can talk about Pete for days. And have a interesting story about Pete. Which is probably not a good time to tell here heh heh. Thanks for making this interview. Never got into Behemoth, but I never gave them a listen. Time to check them out.
