    I actually have an answer as to what happened to Zazumi. The label shown around 9:18 is a generic label assigned to artists who use Distrokid as their distributor. This means the uploaded either didn't have enough of a grasp to figure out how to make their own custom label or they used the cheapest tier ($20/yr) to upload music, which doesn't allow for custom labels. With this in mind, the most likely explanation is that Zazumi just didn't renew their subscription to Distrokid, and didn't pay for the $49 one time fee that permanently keeps tracks on streaming services after your subscription expires.

    I believe the reasoning for the Dark Side of Raindow theory and why it seems like they synch up is due to them both using the same pacing stucture. It's probably also why both of them are so rewatchable/listenable since they are designed in a way to be naturally apeeling.

  • @mothergoosesisternoose3370
    @mothergoosesisternoose3370 Жыл бұрын

    Regarding Zazumi: the recordings are most likely uploaded with different titles and art to hide that they're recordings of a specific religion. This is sometimes done to help people practice religions who are facing bans or restrictions. The reason these recordings were everywhere and then disappeared is that Zazumi most likely used Distrokid to upload the tracks onto streaming services. Distrokid allows you to upload unlimited amounts of tracks to all streaming services for a single yearly fee. If you don't renew your subscription, however, all tracks are deleted. This is further supported by the fact that when Zazumi's info on google appears in the video, you can see that their "label" is a bunch of random numbers + Records + DK. Distrokid does this, essentially creating a fake label to upload a certain artist's music. So yeah, Zazumi was most likely a muslim who wished to provide recitations of the Quran and alike recordings under the disguise of music, and simply didn't renew their subscription with Distrokid, thus getting all the uploads deleted from streaming services.

    For Zazumi, there was an interesting Reply All episode that covered weird calls that sounded like pre-recorded people talking in another language. Investigation revealed it was a scam designed to just be bizarre audio that made people stay on the call longer as they tried to figure it out, and the scammers had figured out how to benefit monetarily from people staying on the call longer. I wonder if Zazumi is a similar idea - garner attention and longer view times by being intentionally bizarre. Really, the audio is strikingly similar in terms of being poor-quality audio in another language than the intended main audience.

    About the wizard of Oz: I can say for certain that it's just a case of overactive pattern recognition. I'm a creative person and aspiring writer, and I spend a lot of my time imagining stories in my head that I obsess over for weeks at a time. I'm also a huge music nerd, and sometimes I listen to music and find areas in which the songs subject matter matches up with my story. I can do this with any story and any song. It also seems to me like a case of extreme confirmation bias, people are more likely to take note of the times when the album and movie do synch up and don't consciously acknowledge the times in which the album and movie distinctly don't synch up or even contradict.

    There's a pretty good reason for The Wizard of Oz Pink Floyd thing old albums used to be arranged in a way that they were more of experience and you would listen to the whole album from beginning to end and they had structures like a movie has structures and most movies are about the length of either an entire album which is about you know 70 minutes or more depending on what you're listening to and movies typically have a three-act structure so it would make sense that those same ideas would match up with an album that basically can only do you know one or two large song climaxes if it's planned out accordingly your basic movie has to be 80 minutes in length in order to be a feature film take away the credits what do you get about 70 minutes. And the words lining up with the scenes is just your brain filling in the rest

    I think behind zazumi, from what i can see from the record label information on google, they were using DistroKid, and because the label name was just a bunch of numbers and at the end it said "DK", it probably means they were using the lowest tier of DistroKid. They probably cancelled their subscription to DistroKid and didn't renew it, and that's probably why it disappeared. My DistroKid got cancelled and my spotify pages and stuff acted very similar to what's happened with Zazumi.

    i use a service called distrokid to upload all my music to streaming services. it allows you to upload anything to any service (even some obscure foreign ones) as long as it's an mp3 or a wav file. what might have happened here is that zazumi uploaded the prayer audio as a mistake using distrokid or any major site in that vein, and only discovered his mistake by chance after listening to his own music on streaming. he then deleted the master copies of the songs, which essentially erase them from every site. distrokid just so happens to release music on those exact services you mentioned, and also makes it so the artist's songs show up on google if you search their name.

    I remember the wizard of oz thing showed up in my newsgroups RSS feed. It got so big that stores were selling the movie and album together. The '90s were a fun time and it was cool smoking my totally legal products, opening up a bag of Cheetos, and firing up the old DVD and cd. I do not remember the cues for syncing it up but it was genuinely weird.

    There was an artist on KZread named Chriddof who was most active in the KZread Poop era who made surreal videos with 3D animation software and garnered quite a following. But, prompted by some form of mental illness, he would periodically wipe everything he'd ever uploaded to KZread. Then he'd stabilize and slowly reupload it all, until he had another attack and deleted it all again. This happened multiple times before he finally allowed a friend to manage his archive instead, breaking the cycle. Under normal circumstances, I'd suggest something like that could have happened to Zazumi, because there's precedent for artists vanishing like this...except these aren't normal circumstances, because Zazumi wasn't even an artist. Still, it seemed worth mentioning. People do strange things, often for sad reasons.

    zazumi must've been some sort of experimental artist that uploaded their discography to distrokid (see the record label publisher for proof) and then when they couldn't pay the $20 a year fee to keep the service then their distro deleted the stuff off of those platforms.

    For Zazumi, I know that some distribution services (the people you go through to get songs on things like Spotify) charge as a subscription and will automatically take down anything you’ve uploaded if you don’t renew your subscription. I don’t know if they also had social media pages that also disappeared, because not renewing a distribution subscription obviously couldn’t cause that, but if it’s just their music, it could be something as mundane as that. Especially with a musician as small as they seem to be. As for Dark Side of the Rainbow, I’ve also heard that playing Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness alongside Scott Pilgrim vs. the World yields similar results!

    the zazumi tracks where uploaded though distrokid. you can tell because at 9:15 it has a distrokid code where it says "record label" they give them these codes when you dont specify the record label it was released by. that means they could have just deleted them from there or stopped paying for the distrokid service and they took them down.

    No Nerds Allowed did a really good video on the Dark Side of the Rainbow phenomenon called "The Scientific Truth About DARK SIDE OF THE RAINBOW" and he theorized the reason so many people can connect the plot points and themes of WoO to PF is because the album has an overall narrative structure that is easy to read into other movie structures, given the movie follows conventional story structure. He tested it on other movies, and yes, he tested it on Shrek and Paul Blart 2. And on each movie, he reported back to what synchronicities he found. It's very interesting and I want to do it myself with other movies- maybe Demon Slayers: the movie and Good Burger lol

    I read about the Dark Side of the Moon theory in the newspaper back in the early 1990s. I tried to watch a video a shot a few years back like the one you mention but having to actually watch Wizard of Oz, a movie I hate was to much and I gave up after a half hour. When I would play my N64, I'd turn off the sound and put on some music on the stereo and loudly sing along. Sometimes there were would be those synced moments but mostly I found that I'd either react different to an event in the game depending on the song that was on or I'd react different to the song. I was in the cursed family's house in OoT while "You'll be in my Heart" was on and I felt overly sad and sorry for the family, but another time it was a harder rock song and I was feeling angery at them.

    The Zazumi one creeps me out the most. Was this person even a part of that Mosque? Why record everyone in secret? Did they think they were spying? Did they think they were really making art? The Pink Floyd/Oz thing was pretty old, I thought? I remember going to a neighborhood outdoor movie night where they did Dark Side of Oz. Always got the impression that the idea to synch up the two has been around for as long as folks have had weed, Dark Side of the Moon, and a way to watch Wizard of Oz at home.
