ਜ਼ਰਾ ਫ਼ਾਸਲੇ ‘ਤੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਏ ਖਲੋ, ਨੀ ਸੱਧਰਾਂ ਲੁਕੋ ;
ਤੇ ਮਿੰਨ੍ਹਾ ਜਿਹਾ ਰਹੇ ਹੱਸਦਾ !
ਰੋਜ਼ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਏ ਉਡੀਕ ਜਿਹਦੀ ਉਹ, ਅੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਪੜ੍ਹੀ ਜੋ ;
ਨਾ ਪੁੱਛਦਾ ਨਾ ਗੱਲ ਦੱਸਦਾ !
He stands at a little distance with veiled sentiments;
And keeps laughing slyly !!
The eyes have noticed the longing for him everyday;
Neither he inquires nor apprises !!

ਅਸੀਂ ਉਹਨੂੰ ਵੈਸੇ ਮੌਕਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਏ ਬਥੇਰਾ,
ਪਾਇਆ ਇਸ਼ਕੇ ਦਾ ਘੇਰਾ !
ਬੱਸ ਕੋਲ਼ ਆ ਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਚੁੱਪ ਹੋ ; ਜਤਾਉਂਦਾ ਨਹੀਓਂ ਮੋਹ ;
ਪਤਾ ਨੀ ਕਿਹੜਾ ਨਾਗ ਡੱਸਦਾ ।
Is not valiant enough to divulge the passion;
Oh you brave one !!
Otherwise gave him ample chances;
By engulfing with love !!
He becomes quiet upon coming near and doesn’t exhibit love;
Don’t know what is the restraint !!

ਉੰਝ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਏ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਓਹਲੇ ,
ਤੇ ਉਹ ਗਾਉਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਢੋਲੇ ।
ਲਈਏ ਗਲ਼ੇ ਵਾਲ਼ੀ ਗਾਨੀ ‘ਚ ਪਰੋ ; ਸੁਣੋ ਨੀ ਕੁੜੀਓ ;
ਸ਼ਰੀਫ਼ ਪੁੱਤ ਮੇਰੀ ਸੱਸ ਦਾ ।
I get adorned beautifully that he sometimes might utter;
And delves into the heart;
Though he keeps gazing at me from a hiding;
