Here Nyevoepa means those who are in 5,7 and 9 numbers. There is two team their, which are:- one from groom's side and one from bride's side. Groom side will come from the groom's village to the bride's village. They are the one who takes the bride to the groom's home. Groom will not come with them. The bride will go with them to her groom's home.
This event which you see here is happening there at Bride side. This song battle happens between the groom's Nyevoepa and bride's Nyevoepa. This will last for a very long time till the midnight and somes even more too. Here the bride side will put some poles and the groom's side Nyevoepa has to come till the last pole by defeating the bride side Nyevoepa in the song battle. And at each pole there would be some girls which are called as “Yatopas”. They will defend the poles while the outer Nyevoepa tries to fall them down. The girls will ask money from the groom's Nyevoepa and they have to give some to them. If the yatopas get content with the amount then they will let them to fall down the poles.
