There is no concept 0f 2.5% zakat in The Quran. It is totally against what Quran says. This is the concept of Religion not The Deen of Islam.

I have been following your videos which really are thought provoking and normally based on Quran. However this time I don’t see where you’re backing this 2,5% Zakat rate. No Quranic proof at all contrary to your normal approach. Salaam

At the 4min.25sec. mark you have a caption that says, "What is Zakat... meaning of Zakat as per Quran - to be clean/to be better in purity." Despite knowing "zakat" to be "clean/growing/pure" you are still sticking with the traditional meaning and unthinkingly assumed that "money/wealth/income" can be a factor in something being "clean/growing/pure!" Have you ever come across such a verse: 18:46 Wealth and children are an adornment of the life of this world; and the ever-abiding, the good works, are better with your Lord in reward and better in expectation. Now, consider these keywords: "clean/growing/pure" and "money/wealth/income" does this fit in with the narrative of the Quran? Remember the Quran is like a jigsaw... not only do the small bits fit in together but the whole picture must also harmoniously, effortlessly and logically fit in with everything else! Now, let us all go study the Quran again before we start claiming such-&-such is according to the Quran when in reality... it is NOT! The worst of sins is when we, willingly or unwillingly, attribute invented-truth to Allah when the ultimate truth is already in the Quran. salam.
