Dr Singh, I think you have ignored the fact that an extremist opposition is waiting on the wing to take over the government.

When the rakyat didn’t give PH 2/3 majority to form the government, there’s only so much Anwar and co can do. If Malaysians truly want to rid Malaysia of corruption, they unanimously must give PH the right to rule the land, as opposed to having to work with BN.

I would let the law take its course. The hearing was due on 21 Dec. If Zahid is innocent he would go free. If he is guilty he would go to prison .Will appeal but will lose his MP and position of DPM. Anwar could appoint another UMNO or DAP guy and carry on. Anwar would have kept his election promise, kept the Rakyaat happy, and the Medani Unity Govt strong. Time sorts everything. Why hurry? Anwar just blew it when he could have done much better.

@@drknsingh thank you for reverting .. As you say, the die is cast. We can only pray that good sense and governance will prevail henceforth. Perhaps if voters had not been swayed by rights and religious issues played up by PN , PH would have had the required majority without the necessity of a coalition and the outcome may have been different. All i can hope is that for the sake of the future generations, stability and harmony and the spirit of muhibbah prevails so that we may vote for a party that will take our nation to greater heights and the betterment of the people.

Whilst I like to see all corrupted officials punished but in the case of Zahidi, as we don’t know for a fact, how can we say for certain that the PM is responsible for the former’s DNAA? Yes, AG reports to the PM. Unless and until we have proof, no one can should point the finger at him. The only party responsible is the PP’s office as this arose due to their incompetence and they should be replaced.

You are right but there is no way the AG could decide on dropping the cases without Anwar 's permission. Let me play the Devil's advocate. Why did Anwar not stop the AG from doing this AG and let the law take its course. Now, the AG takes the case out of the courts by withdrawing it. What do you expect any judge to do? One way or another, the buck has to stop with PM Anwar. Seems more like REFOMATI. to me.

Let's move forward & see to it that Parliament institute changes where there're weaknesses. In the near future, when it is passed in Parliament, we would have in place Attorney General (AG) and Public Prosecutor, two separate roles. So SS's concern, moving forward, on the partiality of AG does not hold water. SS claimed that MUDA solo endeavour is a wake-up call for reform. Why didn't SS make the call for reform when PH won the election in 2018. That was the best time when PH won handsomely. Anyway, now the Law Minister has worked on the separate roles of AGC & PP since the formation of the unity govt. It's abt time for SS to walk the talk on good policy making by championing for the amendment of the Federal Constitution & submitting to the Law Ministers any good suggestions. "one by one criminal cases will be dropped" as voiced by SS is an insult to the integrity of the judiciary, implying that there's outright interference. I think he's speaking of the practice during his Atok time as PM4 & PM7 and his assumption that this practice will continue on.

No I still think he had no choice but to continue with him but Anwar cannot bail him our from his charges. The court should do that. He accepted him as DPM that is fine but discharging him is quite another. Lucky the learned just gave a Discharge not amounting to an Aqqital so he can be charged again.

Don’t blame the Judge. When Prosecution prefers a Charge and subsequently cannot proceed with it as scheduled, the Judge either grants postponement or orders DNAA or DAA ( Discharge Amounting to Acquittal). Judges normally would not allow Charges hanging over the head of an accused indefinitely.

We all know discharge is not acquitted as certain smart guys are trying to mislead, there is not much of legacy in this country to charge a discharged guy. Leave it for prolonged while quietly apply for acquittal. This may be the plan in future I guess.
