It’s “Flight”, which is sort of a secondary theme for Superman. The proper theme makes an appearance when he flies off from the Kryptonian ship.

I really respect the fact that Tom didn't try and go a different route and introduce a whole new sound for this but instead honored the original zimmer superman theme from man of steel. Definitely brings the entire MOS, BVS and now ZSJL arc full circle

henry cavill's superman never needed the john williams theme. he has his own theme, composed of hope and light and spirit, and tom holkenborg brough us it beautifully.

I don't get why Supes needs to be stuck in the 70s while Batman is free to be modern. While I enjoy various versions, including camp versions, I hate how most see Superman as only a campy mess. Anyway, the theme does respect the Williams score by making the first part be a little "louder" and "upbeat" like in the Reeve movies. Just a slight nod. Really slight. Maybe just me.

This was one of those scenes I wish I could watch again for the first time, along with Thor arriving in Wakanda and Cap lifting Mjolnir. The utter hype of the moment in combination with the music. I can only imagine how the movie theater would have EXPLODED for this scene.

@@GLUBNOIR to be fair, Snyder was supposed to have a Superman trilogy; but Warner Bros desperately sought to compete against Marvel Studios by making Snyder cram whatever plans he was trying to do into films like Dawn of Justice and Justice League. Despite their running time, those films actually make more sense from an arc standpoint; but Warner Bros cut down the essential elements in those films just to fit the expected theatrical run time, which ended up being an infamous mess that boils to studio interference. The rest of the official DCEU is a mess. Even if Snyder's handling on the World's Finest can come across as divisive, and his ideas tend to not execute as needed (his strong suit is visual storytelling), his approach on the DC stories tend to border on mythological undertones with a dash of humanity's fearfulness (ex. Humanity making out Superman as either a messianic figure by his actions or a devil because he's related to the invaders) and the capacity to rise amidst crisis (ex. the military fighting back against Zod's army, and even the formation of the League due to the actions of Superman).

Seriously that entire segment felt like a Justice League comic come to life. Wonder Woman starts it off flinging Steppenwolf to Aquaman, Aquaman strikes Steppenwolf again sending Steppenwolf flying into Superman, Superman throws a punch launching Steppenwolf into the wall of the Plant and to finish it Superman flies straight down into him. Goosebumps the entire way through

There were many scenes that I tripped over. When I saw this scene, I just cannot help but give a standing ovation. I’m SO happy that we get to hear the MoS scores again. Thank you, Tom Holkenberg and Zack Snyder for bringing back the MoS scores! Whenever I see Henry Cavill’s Superman, this is the theme I’m always thinking of. Fantastic job, Tom Holdenberg and Zack Snyder. Now……..crossing my fingers that AT&T greenlights more of the Snyderverse.

Sadly that wouldn't be the case because even before WB interfered the general audience didn't like Snyder's version of the character's which is what lead to the upcoming reboot with James Gunn and this saddens me as I absolutely loved Henry cavill as superman

That's true, WB's worst mistake was listening to critics instead of listening to fans. By making DC movies into just a bunch of silly fun catered towards critics, they got the higher critics scores they wanted, but audiences stopped going to see them in theaters.

fun fact: this is why henry cavill is our generations “reeve” superman, reeve 40 years ago has said that he wanted to do a superman film very grounded, realistic was the word he mentioned and not so campy (basically man of steel from zack snyder) and then 4 decades later zack directs a superman film that reeve wanted ANYWAY. #restorethesnyderverse

I didn't even think it was possible to upgrade the Flight theme but they did it!

The moment this kicked in, it was impossible for me to not smile. Superman had officially showed up to save the day!

@@richardthelionheart354 - That wasn't what I meant. Flash does save the day, but the hopeful Man of Steel theme accompanying an epic beatdown of the villain made me really feel like Superman was back (to save the day). You know, just that initial feeling.

People listen to this and still think this isn't the greatest superman by far.

When I saw this scene I saw the return of Zack Snyder more than the return of Superman.

This is so much better than Elfman's confused John Williams Superman theme tribute.

This scene actually represents Superman as a symbol of hope. You can feel the flight 2.0 is lighter and faster than the original version.

I love how it takes the Clark Kent theme and turns it into the Superman theme, it humanizes him, makes him more than just the symbol
