G'day Dave. I have also installed the fender extender on my '24 SE, but I didn't need to remove the front wheel. A bit of wriggling and twisting, then she was off. Easier to replace than remove! In my case I drilled the holes for extra strength and applied some gasket sealant for extra adhesion. Works a treat. Will also fit the hugger extension later. Just having to wait( next March?) for the Chic design custom made fairing that I will be fitting to the girl. Fitting the tail tidy next week. Always something to add isn't there! Thanks for the video mate, appreciate it.

Nice one Andy. Well there you go, I was worried about scratches and breaking something, so removed the wheel. The workshop manual also tells you to remove the wheel, at first I thought bugger that, but ended up doing it 😆. I would be interested to see the Chic design fairing when you fit it 👍

Hi Dave, re the coating / sealant you applied to the extenders (and frame caps) - do you thing it would be good to also coat the plastic back guard (ie the bit the hugger extension attaches to)?

Hi Michael, absolutely, I previously coated all of the black plastic parts on the bike when I took delivery.

Thanks heaps for this video Dave. Was interested that you took the wheel off to fit the front extender (seen a few versions - wheel off / on etc). Also clear that you know plenty about paint / ceramic coatings. When I finally get mine I was thinking I might Araldite the extenders on (the super strength version) - Araldite has never failed me (you do need to prepare the surfaces properly, like you did + some roughing up). Also thanks for posting the torque values. Question - did you have any trouble getting the brake lines & ABS wire out of the clip on the front guard?

Hi Michael, I was a little concerned about damaging the brake lines, but just wiggled them out of the holders, it did take some force. There is nothing mentioned about this in the workshop manual, so I just pressed on. Apparently, you can get the guard off without removing the wheel, but again, I didn't want to scratch anything so just took the wheel off. A good thing too as the axle had no grease on it.

Yes, saw the dry axle - that’s a bit of a bummer - makes you hope that other important parts haven’t been left dry. You might find the video at the attached link interesting…the Saturday bike shop here I sometimes visit. There is a moded SE shown…wire wheels etc. kzread.info/dash/bejne/o22e0rKfaN24p5c.html @@davesbikes

@@michaelbopf8013 nice one, those CBX 6 6cyl bikes really sound the business when on song. The wire wheel addition to the SE is a costly exercise, and honestly, seeing them both side by side in your video, I prefer the original gold wheels.

Yes, the original CBX belongs to a mate of mine - very nice bike. Re the moded SE, apparently some people even convert them to twin shocks - I’m not convinced. Just to clarify, the bike shop video isn’t mine - it’s made by a local guy.@@davesbikes

Hey great video I’m 280lbs just went and sat on a 2024 z900rs it was very comfortable do you think the bike has enough power and are you comfortable thanks

The bike has plenty of power. I do find it comfortable, I like the upright riding position, however, I have ordered a more comfortable seat, as I find over long rides of about 4 hours, my balls go numb. This could be because of the aftermarket headers creating a vibration though.

Bike DEFINITELY has enough power. Even at 280lbs, without the wheelie / traction control on, the bike will lift up wit ease !

Try Nv Evo for a ceramic coating it's supposed to be better than kamikaze and only needs 1 coat.

Not a fan of the white Pyramid logo screaming "Look at me!" It's especially bad being on the side. I know form follows function, but just barely when it comes to motorcycles.
