    IK Multimedia is an Italian company and I’ve known them for over 17 years with their music related software and they are a solid company. They don’t do yearly upgrades, they just build them right the first time. That single speaker you saw is also fantastic and the stereo field is so good on that single box and you can plug your guitar, mic, bass, or keyboard to them and jam to your mp3 music. I love them and they ain’t cheesy! Great video!!

    I just got these too and I love them as well! They're mainly marketed towards musicians and sound engineers on the go (especially musicians and engineers that are getting into the iOS music production scene), and they're definitely the perfect pair of monitors for that purpose because they're the only pair of micro monitors with a flat frequency response that goes down as low as 45hz. All the musicians and engineers that I've spoken to who use these all agree that they're the only pair of mobile monitors with 3" drivers that you can mix on and be confident about the results.

    Hey, I wanna ask if you still own them and use them (and how long exactly)? If so, are they working fine or did they get faulty at some point? Is there idle hiss/bass port noise when playing low end content like some people say? Thank you in advance!

    The trick to getting the kinks out of cables is to lay them out straight on a warm day in the sun for a few hours. it will take it right out. worked in professional audio production and this did the trick for most cables.

  • @lifeevent88

    @lifeevent88

    Can you explain how that works exactly?

  • @jasons7070

    @jasons7070

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@lifeevent88 It just warms up the plastics in the cable and relaxes the kinks out. instead of taking a heat gun to and slowly heating each section up, the sun does all the work. after the kinks are out, wrap the cable correctly using over/under. done.

    Had these speakers for a year now and they're still pretty great. The only shitty thing about them is the proprietary cable because it's a little too short and I had to buy replacement from the wires getting worn out when moving them around too much. Even when I got the speakers used the wire was already damaged so this is the second replacement I had to buy. I would definitely recommend buying a spare cable off their website.

Im getting 75-80% of everything i love with the L700 for 1/4 of the cost and more versatile with where and how I can use them. My first introduction to the world of audiophiles was sennheiser 558 (before that it was gaming headphones but hyperx cloud was really good to me at the time). My first major purchase was the Hifiman 400i which i modded all up and loved for a long time. Its pretty fitting for me to come right back around.

    I have heard many opinions about the noise from the bluetooth module after turning on the speakers and while playing the sound from BT. Does this noise, assuming that I do not use BT transmission, disappear completely removing garbage from the audio path? In one of the videos you can see and hear how the noise lasts about 40 seconds after turning on the speakers. Do the speakers hiss when there is no sound?

    I've just got a pair, and am generally pretty happy with them apart from one thing, which it would be great if anyone else who has a pair could test... Sweeping a test tone around 50hz at moderate volume is producing a sound very far from what it should be - not normal distortion, but an extra noisy/comb-filtery vibration sound, which is more prominent than the actual signal... not sure how well I'm describing it, but it's not subtle. I first noticed it when listening to music (the first track of Alva Noto's Transform - admittedly, quite test-tone like music). With a test tone generator I find that as the frequency drops below 50hz, the sound quickly gets quiet which is fine and to be expected. It all seems to sound reasonably fine above that frequency as well, but around 50-60hz there is a very prominent problem. I suspect it may be a bit of a bug in the DSP, where something that should just be heavily attenuated ends up driving the speaker in a way that it can't handle at all well. (nb, I pasted this comment a few minutes ago then KZread seemed to duplicate it loads of times, was frantically deleting, refreshed the page and it didn't look as though I'd posted, so apologies if there's anything weird)

    Finally someone mentioning the elephant in the room about how they look like 20$ pc speakers :) You're making a good case for them. I do have my doubts about bass accuracy from drivers that small. Can you give an idea how they sound compared to Eris E5? Those are the ones I'm planning to buy but this makes me doubt if maybe I should consider these instead.

    Graphs online make the Eris 3.5 seem V-shaped and with bass that rolls off way earlier, going -3 dB around 70+ Hz, while the iLouds are flatter overall, no V shape (but might have some undesirable narrow bump around 2k), and stay flat down to 50 Hz. So...

    @@d0nj03 I ended up getting the Eris E5 but was disappointed with their sound so traded them back in for Adam Audio T5V. Happy camper now :)

    My dude you're hilarious! You remind me of Jack Black (I'm sure you've been told that b4). But yeah, I just picked up a pair of these on ebay for just under $215! Can't wait to get em. They're mainly going to be for used with my Korg Kross.

    Hey Z, so have yu heard of Abacus? An outfit operating out of Germany. They make mainly hi and stuff- so I’m told! But anyways, I came across a little speaker they make. Originally it was Abacus C-Box 2 but they have since been upgraded to a newer and improved model- C-Box 3. Now these things are tiny as but some how manage to go as low as 35hz?! I’m talking 3in (closed box) woofer. Add to that, not much info on them across the interweb, save for a vey favourable 6Moons write up with the other few being in German. So what I’d love to know is.. Would yu be into running a shoot out between the above Abacus, Eve Audio’s little babies- SC03 I think? Of course the Vanatoo T0’s and last off, the Genelec 8010?? The Abacus C-Box 3’s are super intriguing to me! I’d love to see how the above little bunch all stack up..!! Keep doing what yu do brother! Great to see someone so passionate about audio expressing it in such a way! Regards S : !)
