Go Around !! Heavy Crosswind Landing JAL B747 At NARITA
It is Japan Airlines B747 go-around scene in New Tokyo International Airport. Time when this JAL machine had gone into it exactly became a bad condition though it was a bad condition that the window share with 500FT or less in addition to a great change in the wind direction velocity of the wind according to the frontal passage is always observed on that day. 。It is a moment enchanted to pilot's judgment and technology. The micro burst was observed around the airport, and arrival and departure interrupted temporarily after this.

Stunning quality, keep uploading!!
Wow - absolutely amazing footage, incredible.
One of the more dramatic crosswind landing attempts I've seen. Outstanding!
Awesome! Thanks for posting.
Beautifully shot!
Excellent catch !
I could watch 747's all day. Thanks good video.
Beautiful photography.
Man great video, best I have seen in a long time :) good work
Nice video!! I liked ! Awesome
Awesome video!
xlnt video. amazing footage.
Great quality!
Good choice JAL 747!
Excellent video !!
Great footage...good call by the pilot.
Wow -holy Sh*T!!! Amazing video - fantastic catch, five stars!!!
Nice video!
The right move. A good captain does not take unnecessary risks. JAL pilots are among the best
thats an excellent video, well done. I work on 747's and I dont think I have seen one go round so late in the landing!!
Oh my, that looked pretty scary. Well done pilots!
Yes, I really was on that flight. I have to say that the pilot did the right thing under the circumstances and I am very thankful that he ultimately landed the plane safely.
Awesome video 10/10 :)
gorgeous filmography
great vid
wow nice video!!!
beautiful elegant docile giant flying beast the 747
awesome video! certainly struggling to get it stable on this one..
thanx man!!
Gotta love the wing flex....awesome bird !!
Best go-around video vie seen.
Superb video. Thanks.
4 sure the best toga iv seen thanks....
God Bless the pilots!!!
Finally found a good aircraft go-around vids...
WOW crazy cross wind
must be fun for the passengers they get an extended journey!
Boeing 747... the most beautiful jumbo jet evar
very good decision by pilot,to make a safe landing
wow amazing
I agree, its far better than stressing the aircraft body and wearing out the breaks & tires.
i wish i lived near the lax and see 747's 737's and etc planes land their everyday! it'll be awsome
I was on an Embrarer heading from to ATL and we hit 747 wake turbulence at cruising altitude. The wings dipped and the plane did a little nose down action. People screamed but not a big deal. Lasted 4 or 5 seconds.
To a certain degree yes. It makes him a good pilot due to him understanding his limitations and making the right and smart decision. A more experienced pilot might have found this approach much easier and nailed it with no trouble. Going around means good pilot? Yes, in the terms that he realizes his limitations and does not get too cocky. Good pilot as in experienced? I do not necessarily agree.
I am part of the atc and landing a plane in crosswind is hard
and holiday is over...we go back home again. :D
Amazing, only one more thing would be nice to hear the radio chatter.
Better than any rollercoaster.
Going around is the sign of a good pilot, not a scared one.
Depends on the circumstances, Segundo; in a place like Narita it's extremely crowded up top so the pilot probably upped the gear to achive a clean configuration - the go-round could take anything up to 20 minutes from spool-up. That would also have the benefit of reducing the fuel penalty as well.
Smart pilots make go arounds all the time and they live to tell about it. It's no big deal. Safety first.
Whoa! Look at the angle of attack on climb with full flaps! The nose must be way above the horizon. It looks like it climbs well considering it's got full flap.
gO AROUND= Skilled pilot Don't be afraid to go around!!!
Awesome
Nice video. Talk about a last second decision... I was wondering however, why the gear up on a go around? I do not mean to ask an obtuse question but was he anticipating that much more time before another landing attempt? I was wondering if that was an indicator of planning on going to another airport locally such as, JFK-LGA...
Captain took the correct decision. The main problem landing with hard crosswinds is that the aircraft could turn off the runway or bump one of the wings. Both situations could turn catastrophic.
please zoom out a little bit next time. nice video
Impressionnant!
Indeed!
awesome
that is a big baby!!!!!!!
Good reply. I love to fly and no matter how many times I have made my own approach, I get so white knuckled. My instructor used to give me hell about it. He told me that pilots with numb hands have just a wee bit more trouble controlling their aircraft. I do not know why as climb out is where things can go bad in a bad way. Something about approaches just unnerves me when I am in the pilots seat.
Lol nice burn
精彩
Holy smokes...looks like he had his hands full on that one.
1:12 just look at the engines..you can see the full thrust!
Awesome move, when your not too sure then dont risk it,you do the go around and give it another try, this is a really good pilot, you have the lives of hundreds of people in your control ,to the person said scared? are you kidding me.
That is what I was wondering. I know there are lots of variables that could have been, that the video leaves us only to guess. I have been in a jet more than a car, and I mean that literally. For 8 years I flew home every weekend when I was not flying somewhere during the week. Only one go around. However, the air was empty so we simply climbed out, turned, re approached and landed on the 10001 ft runway at GSO.
No way I'm a pilot IRL (more like flight simulator) but this is part of operating procedures. The pilot must apply full power, reduce flaps, and retract landing gears. Just like takeoff, it optimizes for safe climbing speed. Landing gear when down increases drag. Pilot climbs to pattern altitude and perform another approach or hold on to pattern until ATC clears the runway for landing.
There are old pilots and bold pilots. But no old, bold pilots.
@RetreatingBlade I totally agree with you...
Por deoh! como se mueve ese avión *-*
Why do they retract the landing gear for a go-around?
The correct decision
theres was a lot of sudden movements befor it flew over the run way, i would have crapped it, suppose he was never stopping that plane even if he did touch down on that attempt.
impresionante!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can anyone tell what is the exact second (on the video) that the pilot decides not to land and go around?
there was a shot of the wind sock it wasn't even fully erected! Must of been a gust of wind on final!
@HamburgAirport propably U're right but the second opction is that he had wind from under i mean he was pushed up by wind that he couldn't did the touchdown
That's an expensive decision. Safety is always better than saving money though.
teasing the runway
it's sounding completely like that now.
@LeeClaxton He clearly has passed the TDZ (touch down zone)... because of the winds, look he's awesome, incredible control on final! I can't know how he was able to pass 200 ft (decission alt) without any problems. Such precission, such excellence.
Just in order to reduce drag.
me too!
Just calling it the way I see it....
