I grew up watching shows like this. Bill Dana, Don Adams, Jonathan Harris et. al. Really funny guys. Bill Dana on The Ed Sullivan Show as astronaut Jose Jimenez brought the house down. Later on immortalized by Alan Shepard in the movie " The Right Stuff". I haven't watched television or movies in well over 20 years. There's a reason. Television and cinema back in the day were pure entertainment. I don't reckon they are about that now. RIP Jose Jimenez, Agent 86, and Doctor Smith. Y'all entertained and made us laugh more than you know.

i was unaware of bill dana show other than the name & his great stand up & comedic timing & excellent flintstones album. it feels like seeing an alternate universe of dr smith & maxwell smart & maggie patterson interacting in same universe. it's even more uncanny than the cannon, barnaby jones crossover episodes

This was hilarious! I always liked Bill Dana's character on The Steve Allen Show. The end credits look like the Dick Van Dyke Show (being as how it is produced by the same company). Real cool! Thanks for posting these. I guess if this show hadn't been cancelled, we wouldn't have Lost in Space or Get Smart. Well, maybe we would have had them anyway, but they'd be a lot different.

I think the shows still would've gone on tv, but neither would've been as fun or funny w/o these men.

Hard to believe that The Bill Dana Show lasted only two seasons on the air and lasted for 42 episodes that aired on Sunday nights opposite The Ed Sullivan Show And Bonanza. This was produced by Danny Thomas and Sheldon Leonard who were executive producers that produced this short lived comedy sitcom that aired on NBC from September 22, 1963 until January 17, 1965. The same writers for The Dick Van Dyke Show and the Andy Griffith Show wrote some hilarious material that made this a classic.

I was just just skipping around looking at the actors who I remember from other shows from the sixties - Dr Smith, Maxwell Smart, Homer Bedloe, Dottie Snow, until I chanced upon the gem at 18:30 - then I had to go back and watch it all.

If it were done nowadays, it should've just been called "Jose Jimenez" and actually star a Latino, but with perfectly good English instead.

I feel bad for Bill Dana, I heard he got bashed by his culture for his humor, but nothing he does seems like a Mexican stereotype to me, his biggest joke is being chicken, I don't know anyone who thinks cowardice is a Mexican stereotype. Heck, Don Adams is equally silly
