It's sweet how nervous Dave was. Anyone who loved music so much as a child can relate. I sure can. I had never heard anything like Cat Stevens and still haven't.

Cat Steven's is a magnificent musician, lyricist, & singer. And, he is a wonderful human being. Our country, the U.S. was in a turbulent time when his music was (in my opinion) unjustly banned from this country's airwaves by the censors. Those censors have all passed away, some time ago. This country is in turbulence again, now. But, thank God, Cat Steven's a.k.a Yusef Islam has been remembered & honored for his contribution to the American music. I have loved so many of his songs since I was 13 yrs old, in about 1976. Bravo!

Saw him with Alun Davis in Cardiff when I was a student in about 1969 and he was booed by many who wanted dance music. He carried on like a real pro singing his seemingly simple but actually quite complex songs with their key and rhythm changes. One of the greats.

I and my best friend at the time syd met him in the early 80s in London at the Mind and Body festival . We couldn’t believe it . I told him I had listened to his music as a younger lad and felt honoured to listen to his words . I asked if he would return to music and he smiled and said I don’t think God thinks I’m ready yet. He seemed very at ease but sad at the same time. I’ve often thought about this encounter and was delighted when he did return and God must have thought he was ready.

🥀Beautiful🥀This is so Amazing every single word every lyric it's so much I'd like to say but kinda lost for words. Yusuf speech was beautiful his words of wisdom of his journey back from all that happened to him for years and almost lost his life only God knows why this happened and yet I feel like if he hadn't of gone through it all he'd not be here today. I've listened to his song's from the 70s on up I was young but my parents and my sister's we all grew up listening to his music and I've loved and had the up most respect for him over the years. God Bless you Yusuf your music will live on through my Children and Grandchildren as well. My Family love's you. Congratulations on your dreams coming true. 🥀☝️🥀✌
