Yusmarg - Discovering the Wilderness of Kashmir
This tiny yet charming hill station, is generally not on the tourist map. At an altitude of around 2400 m, and about 50 km from Srinagar ,Yousmarg can be a perfect place to embrace calm and tranquility. It is believed that Jesus had spent some time here and thats how this place got its name “Yusmarg", which literally translates into the “Meadow of Christ”.
At Yousmarg, Tribe homestay is an amazing find. Located in a rather remote but easily accessible area, this rustic homestay is a piece of art. Personally designed by the owner Uzair, the whole place is built using upcycled materials like tree branches, barks, pine cones, trunk pieces, and old cabinets. With its antinque-y vibes and atmosphere, its evident that Uzair has put his heart and soul in building this beautiful oasis in this remote village

If you want proper greenery and pleasant climate,, plan for may-june , and go offbeat like yousmarg, gurez, dhoodpathri, and if you're trek lover there are 100'$ of options, going offbeat will save your money and will give you immense pleasure, and if you have a good local friend it will be a cherry on a cake

Inspired by this video and reviews I actually went there. Yusmarg is a beautiful place. Unfortunately, the same is not true for the homestay. Very mediocre stay. Not worth the money for the experience, food or stay. The picnic was arranged at a place where one was surrounded by horse shit. The host talks about tribe as though it is some cult. One can easily do a day trip from Srinagar to Yusmarg and skip this homestay.
