The boy in the black dress is probably my favourite song in the whole album, I'm afab but it still connects to me as an alternative non-binary person because I can feel and understand his pain through every lyric and every sound and vocal

I love Dom because he is so open and unfiltered. He is so honest and he says whatever he is thinking and feeling. He just doesn't care what other people think. I love the fact he wears makeup and black nail polish, sometimes wears dresses other times he looks very handsome in a suit. He can wear anything and look amazing.

I love how clever his lyrics are, interesting to know how he was challenged whilst writing 🖤

loved hearing the story behind this song, it's such a profound song with such gripping, emotionally charged lyrics that so many people can empathise with.

Honestly bow down to the most down to earth loving and dont to earth human being. Hard working and also loves his supporters so much and when we Ll come together it's magic. Great interview! YUNGBLUD is unmatched when it comes to 21st century rockstars. He tears up the stage like no other performer! And his new album only furthers that with songs like The Funeral, Tissues, and Memories. I was lucky enough to see him perform live a couple of weeks ago and I actually got to ask some of his fans why they love him and what their favorite songs are. This Interview is so funny. I really can't picture Yungblud in Glendale since I have actually been there. It seems too conservative for him but I am glad Dom enjoyed it. He is adorable.

Double standards coming from an artist that is all about being who ever you want to be. So calling Morrissey a Dick is totally opposite of how Yungblud portraits himself. Morrissey is entitled to be who ever he wants to be, it comes with the territory of being the greatest song writer of his age.

It just so happens if you can’t just mind your own business, and attack groups of people with your statements because you can’t just live and let live, that makes you a dick.

Because that's literally the thing bro. He is talking about how the people back in his life made him hate how he is, wanting to erase it, but also forget about the bad things, like when the teacher said nail polish is for girls

I mean, he kind of explains it here, but the whole song is basically him hating the part of himself that makes him be true to himself. Everything would be easier if he could be 'normal', but there's a part of him that is like 'fuck that, I am what I am', and he puts the dress on anyway. He hates himself, and he hates the part of him that actually doesn't hate himself at all because it's everyone else that's wrong. If he could forget that the boy in the dress is him, then he could stop being it, and everything would be easier.

@@totalweirdo8538 it just seems like it's supposed to be very much "I had to go through all of this to be who I am, and there were times I wished I could forget who I was, but I'm glad I didn't in the end". It seems like the opposite of yungblud to say he still wishes he forgot who he is.

@@joewhite4456 Well, that's sort of the point, too! Because the part of him that goes 'yes, hate me, I'm still doing this' keeps winning, and it's obviously the part we all see. I think it makes yungblud all the more powerful, because Dom *knows* things would be easier if he conformed, and they probably always will be, and that creates this tension even within himself every time he chooses not to. Not all of the experiences that shaped him were negative, but they all add up to a person that it's often quite difficult to be. So there's a piece of him that hates that he keeps being that person, but it's *losing.* Everytime. Every single time he decides that it's worth it. But it is still a decision that he keeps making, and the song is told from the pov of the bit that is losing and is fucking mad about it. And because Dom is the way he is, there will likely always be situations where it's easier for him to not be himself, and that part of him will always exist. But it actually *is* everybody else that's wrong, and it actually *is* worth it. So the song ends with this bitter, angry part of him still bitter, still angry, still there, but still losing. Sorry this was so long and pretentious, I just love this song a lot!

@@totalweirdo8538 no I appreciate it! It's my favourite song of his, the last line just always confused me why he included a line about how he still wishes he conformed more when so many of his other songs and a large part of his brand has always been about how people shouldn't have to conform.
