Schumann’s music speaks to the soul of German poetry. This performance is like listening to beautiful German poetry in musical notes. Absolutely enchanting. Makes me love Schumann’s music even if I sometimes don’t quite understand what he is writing about. His harmony and musical phrases are quite extraordinary.

If you like his Schumann, listen also to his interpretation of Schumann's Carnaval Op.9. at age 22. It is hard to imagine such a young pianist having the artistic skills for Schumann's deep and probing music in the Carnaval. But he does.

Totally agree. 'Carnaval' is one of his best recordings.

Très loin devant le très exhibitionniste Lang Lang, Yundi est un pianiste de grande classe, qui a gagné en maturité, tout sonne juste, c'est droit, honnête, sensible, authentique, naturel, sans aucune recherche d'effets. Quelle affinité avec Schumann ! Impressionnant de musicalité.
