It’s not so much for decoration of the top as an attempt to “marble” the inside. They just did it so nicely it looked like it could be the decoration.

Freezing plain melted chocolate won’t do anything. It needs to be tempered first. Unless it’s compound chocolate but that doesn’t taste good
