OOF, Yul Brynner is just magnetic. That mellifluous voice, that accent, the gentility and manners, the charm, the true humility and kindness! I need to go take some deep breaths.

I couldn't agree more!
I saw the show in London in 1980. Brynner was & always will be THE KING. He was amazing & magnetic.
What a marvelous baritone voice & that accent is so alluring💛💛💛💛💛💛 - Yul will always be Ramses & King of Siam to me - RIP

I absolutely agree with you there will never be another yul he will always be the king long live the king rip 😭💖🙂
What a rags to riches story. Yul Brynner came to this country knowing only a handful of English words. His looks, charisma, voice, desire to succeed, and talent carried him far on screen and stage. His portrayal of Ramses II was mesmerizing. Truly the American Dream come true. Superb interviewer.

Yes not sure which is best “the king and I “ or the Ten Commandments he was great in both
I loved him. He was magical.
I was so so lucky to see this musical in 1979 when I was 12. I was blown away and Yul came back out for about 12 encores!!!

Hi ,my friend played his Son ,Rizzani was his name ,I wonder what happened to him .
One of the giants of the movie screen. Such a charismatic figure who exudes masterful authority and conviction with every role. I could listen to Mr.Brynner for hours.
There will never be another King like Yul Brynner you are loved and missed dearly. I saw it many many years ago with Yul in it and was the third generation of my family to see it.
I was very upset about my losing hair..Until I saw Yul..Thanks Yul..Love you as an actor too....
He was glorious and Virginia McKenna is a legend in her own right. ❤
If he had complimented me like that, I would have just died - and that voice - so exciting!!
Very respectful of Judith Chalmers to call him Mr Brynner, A lovely handsome man who really liked women.
Such a charismatic, charming, intelligent, sexy man. I've absolutely loved him ever since I saw the film aged 8.
Yul was a fantistic actor would watch all his films with my dad loving his speech

He spoke multiple languages. So brilliant was he. Handsome as ever. The vibrations that emerge from his voice is enough to take my breath away.
I absolutely loved this. What wonderful people.
Did you know his French was totally native, even better than what you can hear today in France's media, he spoke so condidently with a hint of accent and refined phrases, this man had stunning talent
Brilliant actor, person and the voice is so awesome
My first celebrity crush. I wish I had seen him perform live. Dazzling.
Brynner is so utterly charming...
merci beaucoup pour avoir posté cette interview! ça fait plaisir de voir qu'encore aujourd'hui on pense à ce merveilleux acteur :)
Really enjoy listening to her when she speaks so so graciously, she really is beautiful in every way.Classy lady.
Yul Brynner is the best King actor in this movie.
What two lovely actors they are,Yul Brynner a respectful gentleman and Virginia Mckenna a fantastic actress and Lady who seemed humbled and glad to get the Difficult part of Mrs Anna.😊❤
I saw the King and I at the Palladium in London in 1979, I was 12 at the time and I must say that Yul Brynner had an incredible presence on stage that even a 12 year old could notice. It was 1 of my best experiences

I saw this in Philadelphia, live, with these two, in 1979 or ‘80. He was magnificent. Unbelievable. He filled the entire theatre with his personality.
A model of man in my chilhood! What a spirit
Merci pour cette vidéo d'excellente qualité concernant un acteur extra-ordinaire ! Un très bon moment !
Love Yul ❤️
Love Yul! Thank you!
"Many many years to come." SO TRUE!!❤️
What is the obsession with yul's head shaven? He is stunning with his head shaven. The King and I is my most favourite musical because I was hypnotised by Yul comfort of playing the king.

Yul shaved his head for this role at a time when bald heads were just...unfashionable. Losing hair was unmanly. So to proudly have it shaved, brazen, yet still put off a vibe that today is called "big dick energy" was crazy and intriguing

Drooling over Yul Brynner! I absolutely fell in love with his bald head and him back in the 60’s 😊
I love Yul
I saw them in London. It was fabulous.
40 years ago? Wow. I remember this.
Virginia is so so beautiful and very gracious and soeaks so eloquently. She makes a perfect Mrs Anna, a very classy lady indeed. Yul is handsome and perfect as king.
Mention the name Mr Yul Brynner and you instantly connect the GREAT Hollywood Superstar as the King of Siam in the movie and stage production of The King and I one of my favourite musicals of all time. Mr Yul Brynner with a strong voice of command once you see him you are already in awe of his presence immediately. Some actors are born to play certain roles and Mr Yul Brynner was meant to play The King of Siam. The SO lovely so down to earth now OBE Virginia McKenna was SO perfect for the role as Anna. SUPER show and SUPER interview. 😃
How I wish I'd seen this live. First time I saw on TV as a kid,not knowing the story. It was in 2 parts & for some reason I never saw the 2nd part. When I finally did,oh I cried! I never expected it Some actors own a role like none other. Mr Brynner was,as his character said..."the King he was born to be"
This is a perennial treat for all the family!
WOW WOW WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11 From a mad keen 76yo Aussie fan.
I believe Mr. Brynner performed with Ms. McKenna in 1979.
Ever for ever Ramses II, nobody can.
Charmante Virginia mckenna que j ai découvert dans 'ma vie commence en Malaisie "avec le non moins séduisant Yul Brynner 💕
Mm. When acting was much different 2021. You’ll one of a kind just great couple
Muy buen actores de orígenes gitanos vivía los gipsy la mejor raza del mundo
You can see he was very sick the best actor Oscar winner of all time.
Would love to have seen him with Claire Bloom...And yes Judith Chalmers is so perfect....congratulations on the OBE Judith.
Oh, Rameses! How I miss you. . . Yul is my 11th Commandment: Thou shalt drool over Yul. . . RIP, my good man. 😘💕
The best moses moses rip
She is so amzing, true lady. Now she would be explaining her kill the Patriarchy tattoo and if you didn't like she would shame and call you racist.
I love the fact that he augments his height with very high heels on his shoes and sandals. (6:43). He broke his back in 1958 and lost some of his 5' 8" which caused him to look way up to his costars which was sometimes an issue apparently. Height or hair? Who needs it in his case.

He broke his back in the '30's, much earlier.

He said he was 58, he died in '85 aged 65, so about '78? Good quality for TV if it is '78, looks way more modern though.

Yuk Brynner was born July 1920 (some interviews he claimed 1925?) Based on him saying he is 58 years old during this clip it would be 1978. After his death in October 1985, an Ad aired of him speaking out against cigarettes. He quit too late, sadly smoking caused him Cancer.

@@FightCollective The production of this musical opened in the West End, at the London Palladium in 1979. For her role Virginia McKenna had got an Olivier award. So it must be before that but after 1976 when musical started touring States.

@@rogerchoate8899 No one in media knew his correct age. According to what I've read, he didn't give his correct year of birth nor age. If I had to guest, I'd say he's older than 58 in this clip as he claim. Either that or he has started suffering with lung cancer. Still a beautiful man.
Where did all the stars go??
He had star quality in the first instant and makes all celebrities seem third class........

Interviewer was a cutey in her day
Great interview , however when Virginia McKenna says she auditioned for Richard Rodgers in New York and 'Mr Hammerstein' she is stating that she either auditioned for Jamie (James Hammerstein) or Bill (William) Hammerstein I'm not sure which, as the author/lyricist Oscar Hammerstein had died 19 years before in 1960.
The interviewer is quite smitten with Yul..
