at my gym there was a guy like this. he could not shoot like yuki but, was super fast. i felt he was one of the most exciting players to watch in a pickup game. he could jump up and grab the basketball rim no problem and his name was eric. when eric had the basketball and drove to the hoop not to many players could keep up with him because he was that fast. i asked him if he could dunk it before and he said no but, it would not had surprised me if he said yes. he is low to the ground so, his center of gravity is better and it is hard to change directions so sudden with him. i still remember i took a shot and he was about 6 feet away from him. he jumped up and blocked me. i'm over 6 feet tall and i was trying to bank it off the backboard.

You can play dumb to his weaknesses and limitations all you want.. All I said was give him a shot...it took a desperate knicks team ravaged by pg injuries for them to let Lin play and he went off on bottom tier guards that whole run...

+Baki Grappler I'm actually a big Lin fan, but that's not a very relevant way to compare players. You just randomly picked stats from random players to compare Lin to. In the same vein, DWade got 100 blocks in a single season compared to Lin's 100 in 3 seasons, and DWade is only 2 cm taller. Lin is an average/slightly better than average player, but he brings in cash for not being black. I live in Tokyo, and can tell you that basketball is a niche sport in Japan (3rd biggest economy) and asians are obsessed with nationals that succeed abroad. A single Japanese NBA player could spawn huge interest in the NBA, and consequently, revenue. So Togashi's appeal to a GM might extend beyond skill alone (in the same way as Lin).

It would be great to see him get a chance in the big show. He probably couldn't be a long-term starter and would definitely be exposed if he was left out on the floor too long at the NBA level but wow, what quickness, energy, passing and shooting off the bench.
